Anyone following this? Breakaway golf tour from PGA/European tours, backed with Saudi Money. Slightly different format, and the money offered to players is huge. Some big names have joined (Mickleson, Johnson, Westwood etc) - mostly players in the September of their careers taking the paycheck. Some of their interviews are painful - just admit you are doing it for the money ffs. Good for golf or not? Arguably PGA has too much power - does the game need a shake up ?

Rumours that Tiger has turned down a billion dollars to join. Mickleson pretty much confirmed he’s pocketed 200 million dollars. It’s silly money.

The interviews are cringeworthy. Sad that the likes of Westwood and Poulter will now more than likely never appear in another Ryder Cup as player or captain / vice captain.

If you are in the twilight of your career and someone offers you an obscene amount of money it’s hard to turn down. For anyone.

More money for him to gamble then.

Remembering from my time in Saudi (which I loved) it is all tax free which is a nice bonus.

I know Mcllroy and Woods have turned the money down, but its staggering.

Dechembau's apparent net worth was 10-15 M USD, and they have allegedly offered him 100 M. Micklesons net worth around 300 M, and they offered him 200M. These are also just appearance fees - not even counting prize money. Bloody mental

Mickleson has lost the plot. Can see him retiring soon, once he has milked the LIV. Can't blame him tbh, but i just wish they would say im here for the money. Its obvious, and people would understand better than all the BS.

No different from.any other sport, players just chase cash, it's a job
