Here's an even crazier one, use interchangeable subs as in Ozzie rules where the same player can spend time on & off the field. Was working in Edinburgh and on Jock TV saw a programme where they worked out the size comparison between goals and the average height of males(goalkeepers) when the rules are first introduced. With the current height of keepers the goals they experimented with were huge. They then played a game and the attacking teams still played as normal until they realised there was a lot more space around the keeper that they could score in.
