GrahamC
Just published their accounts today, in the season they got relegated from the Prem, their Chinese owner took £5m out of the club as a loan because his businesses in China were “struggling”, he hasn’t paid it back yet. What a ******* shit show it all is, Birmingham are in the same boat, back story is the Chinese Government decided a few years ago that they could use English football as soft power, hence approved businessmen buying Villa (now sold), Wolves, Birmingham & WBA but they then decided to pull out. An absolute mess.

Popular Post Rudolf Hucker
I know that some moan about SL but honestly, I'm very pleased and thankful that he's our owner, for the money he has invested and continues to invest in our club. The horror stories of clubs like Derby, Birmingham and WBA shows the lasting damage that unscrupulous owners can have on a football club and its supporters. 35 1

Monkeh
This is why, despite his failings as an owner we still have to be thankful to lansdown,. He's not immune criticism and does deserve it especially in the ashton years, But he has the best interests of the club at heart and it could always be worse, He's appoint what seems to be a good ceo in gould who is quiet and effective so far.... let's hope its ruw right step forward 5

I honestly believe too that when the inevitable happens and SL decides to sell up he would make sure that any purchaser was `sound`. The problem then is, what happens when they sell up further down the line?

Just a shame he hasn’t got a scooby about making the right footballing decisions. Other than that, you couldn’t really ask for more! 1

RoystonFoote'snephew
In serious mode (as opposed to my earlier post) while I don't expect the Chinese to come knocking, talk in the press again of SLs search for new investment leaves me nervous that we might end up with ownership, at least in part, of some dodgy American investor whose only knowledge of sport is indoor lacrosse. Which media out of interest? American investment into the game does seem to be ramping up, which worries me somewhat as that will only drive commercialisation even further. ExiledAjax
Yeh, so this sort of thing is why I'm working to support the Fan Led Review, and why we need as many people and fans as possible to: a) let their MP know that if that MP doesn't support the Fan Led Review, then they'll lose a vote (I don't care if you'd ever vote for them or not, just tell them this); b) let our Club know that fans of Bristol City want to see some changes, and want to see the Club implementing some of the Fan Led Review's recommendations without waiting for politicians to force the point; c) consider joining the Supporters Club & Trust to build a group of fans that can be a credible and audible voice regarding the Fan Led Review; and d) follow, share, interact with and support groups like Fair Game and the Football Supporters Association, all of who are working to try and get some protections in place to make it harder for people who don't care about football clubs and their communities to wreck clubs in this country. If we don't, then one day when Lansdown is gone and we're owned by we may regret it. I don't want City to be part of ABC Capital, Inc from Delaware (via Cayman) "exceptional portfolio of exciting investments", I don't want us to be a personal bank for an Asian owner, and I don't want us to be the PR department of a country that needs to sportswash. The more we can do to bolster our Club, the less likely these things are to happening. The tools are there. We have seen with the reaction to the Super League and the financial plights of various clubs that fans want change. But people have to act as well as post on a forum. Write to your MP. Write to your Club. Interact with the groups already working on this. Anyone that wants to know more or needs help doing this is free to DM me.
