Bit draconian but I’m all for firing squads  in situation like this

Who was it on here a short while ago who was very amusing for making comments that invariably started with "I don't want to overreact, but" and then going on to have a full on ironic meltdown

We had one first game of the season against Sunderland back in the 1970s.

An absolutely fantastic game.

At home 4-3 to us. Sharpe 2, Skirton 1 and Wimshurst 1. In front of 17,554. The City bible showed a great start to the season with two wins and a draw for the first three games. Then everything went bad from then on with a finish of 19th. Top scorer that season was John Galley with 12 followed by Chris Garland with 8.

Probably Wilson/Tanner/Sykes at RWB

Klose/Vyner RCB

Scott should/shouldn’t play

Conway should start, shouldn’t even be a sub.

That sort of thing.

And a conclusion that Martin isn't good enough and we should have bought Smith from Rotherham.

I've got a feeling we'll have a strong start to the season, everyone will get their hopes up and for varied legitimate reasons we'll tail off over the winter. So initially it'll be all NP is a genius, followed by NP must go.

Thankfully Mr Negative doesn’t post on here - he’d get slaughtered if he did.

The guys I car share with turn off RB when he comes on - comments like “not this miserable fecker again”…..……..

Hang on. Didn’t you say a while ago that you know Ian gay , was a nice bloke & had decent ideas on the game . That’s in black & white on here somewhere.

Off topic, again, i just heard some marvelous poetry from the thespian roger malone.

What a thunderbolt shot from gary stanley.

Northampton keeper peter gleasure.

Is not in for a afternoon of leisure...

He used to be a poet

but didn't really know it.

Edited for accuracy, although I hope, of course, that my edit is completely inaccurate!

The progression I want to see is entertaining football, I was very fearful this time last year and sort of accepted it was all about staying up, we are now in a much better shape, Semenyo is the key, he frightens defences to death, such a shame he’s out for the first six weeks

I thought we were entertaining after Christmas

A bit of fun for the match day thread tomorrow.
At what stage will the season be written off tomorrow 1-15 minutes 15-30 30-45

nailed on for promotion , same timescale . We all know there’s a few that will lose it /get carried away .
we put ourselves through this torture every year.
wouldn’t have it any other way ?

When Private Eye used to do Colemanballs one reader living in Switzerland submitted this bit of Swiss radio commentary:

"But the game's not over yet, there's still 89 minutes to play..."
