Anyone know if the Commonwealth Games have always held their Paralympic equivalent competitions at the same time as the able-bodied stuff?

Seems like a great idea, mixes it up for the viewer as well.

It's the first time in any major competition, a great move.

Interesting mens hockey game currently on

England have to beat Canada by 14 goals to avoid Australia in the semi final

Canada had a player sent of in the third quarter, England have taken off their keeper going into the last quarter so have two extra outfield players

Still need another 8 goals with 13 minutes to go

What was the result?

Sorry found it 11 -2 :)

Amazed at the dedication of some of these athletes. Someone mentioned on the Tour De France thread the other day someone continuing with a dislocated shoulder, well Joe Fraser the gymnast won gold on the parallel bars with a broken foot and 6 weeks after having his appendix removed.

There was a young Welsh girl diving this morning, she perforated her ear drum a few weeks ago, and as a result has been unable to train because her ear would bleed and cause more damage, but she took part in the mixed event with a number of plasters over her ear and the force of her dives meant after each dive she had to have her players re-added for protection, much respect for her bravery
