OneTeamInBristol
Does anyone have experience with Geocaching? I am a bit of a Geography nerd and like my walks and cycle rides so seems like something that would work well together but still a bit confused on the whole idea. Downloaded the Geocaching app at the weekend and headed to a 'spot' nearby which was marked as a geocache but didn't really know what I was looking for, just felt like I must have looked like a bit of weirdo peering into a bush. Any advice appreciated!
TonyTonyTony
I did it a few years back when the kids were younger, as a cheap way of getting them out and they loved it. Finding a little treasure box made it exciting for them but it lost its appeal quite quickly, when after hours of effort you find a box filled with lentils.
Rob k
Makes a walk a bit more interesting for the kids - my little one quite enjoys it when we have a go
Pickle Rick
Enjoyable. Takes some getting used to with the hints, but there are some very clever ones with my favourite being on Kellaway Avenue by Horfield Common. One thing you can definitely benefit from is finding some good walking routes and scenery that you wouldn’t otherwise come across, whether you find them or not! Reigate Red
Have you thought about orienteering? There are a number of permanent courses around Bristol at Ashton Court, Leigh Woods and Blaise Castle to give it a go. You just need to buy the course maps first. Used to do a few around where I live with the kids when they were younger - it got quite competitive! See link below for info: Find a Course - Go Orienteering
