Bristol City defender Kal Naismith makes a huge challenge to deny Ross Stewart.

The Scotland striker was about to let a shot go, but Naismith's tackle is timely.

Before that, Chris Martin had a shot cleared off the line at the other end, as the home side pressed.

HT 1-1. We have looked much the better side,  but they carry a threat with pace up front.

Williams has looked a little 'off the pace' and would like to see Sykes offer himself more on the right side.

Hopefully see Conway on not far into 2nd half.

First half reflections.

Entertaining 45 minutes, sepecially the opening quarter of an hour. Schoolboy defending cost us a goal, decent response with AW and AS our standout players. Our attacking play remains a little too deliberate and slow, whereas when they are attacking it’s more direct and fluid. Been badly exposed twice on our right, a KN last-ditch saving tackle and a ZV recovering challenge saved us. Bents pulled off an instinctive save on 47 minutes. Keith Stroud has, so far, done alright.

Two well matched sides.

Thought we edged it but not by much. Look decent enough going forward, but they are also carrying a threat.

We show glimpses of being a really good side and the we do something amateurish.  We lack consistency and the ability to control a game.

Sunderland are there for the taking.  Really frustrating.

Bit frantic for my liking but we have played some nice stuff.  Vyner has done very well defensively in the first half.  Sykes not having much luck and has been caught bombing before we get controlled possession.

Scott is running his marker ragged who is on a yellow...need to keep committing him.

Bit more precision in final third and we can win this.

Agree @old_eastenderWilliams not quite at it, not bad but not sharp.  Maybe adjusting to playing with Massengo.
