The Bard
Anyone notice that they were a mixture of Heddlu and the Met? If you were in any doubt about how stretched Avon & Somerset Police are then you shouldn't be anymore. Literally at crisis point, but nothing in the Evening Post obviously. Beat teams get tanked for the summer to cover the Response teams who can barely cope let alone Police a football match...

This has been standard at our games for many years, nothing to see here
Bristol Oil Services
Avon & Somerset are too soft/thick, too Hot Fuzz/ West Country. I'd get in West Mids plod, with a few South Yorkshire. Even the ones from the 80s (who will now be drawing their well-earned pensions), they'd make AG a "difficult place to go" alright. 1

Undoubtedly more expensive than local police, which means the club, in due course, will be picking up the bill, unless we already have a fixed service user agreement with ASC, which would mean local taxpayers picking up the bill. Dolman Original
The two that came into the cricket club were from Sunderland. Spoke to a number of their fans, evidently they send at least half a dozen to all their away matches.
East End Old Boy
I had a nice chat with a Lovely Welsh WPC and she showed me a picture of something hot and throbbing between her legs. She had just bought a new motorbike!
RoystonFoote'snephew
Bit of a risky move, but a brave one, for Wallsend Geordie Boy Sting to get his band mates together to take on the Mackems. Not sure that it'll be a message in a bottle he'll be receiving.

Eddie Notgetinya
A lot of A&S support units will have been at the commonwealth games

City Cat
I spoke to a couple of the Met guys by S.82. and asked them what was going on. Apparently A&S were really stretched because of Kill the Bill demos in town
Gibbs
I've never paid attention to the Police at matches but I'm pretty sure they get paid overtime for doing football fixtures. I remember a village copper saying he used to do Saturday fixtures around the south of England. Is this unusual? Just looked up the A&S officer numbers and you could fit them all in the Atyeo, with room to spare.

All smiles and joking with the punters. Let’s hope that continues next season.

Both fans showed respect and both both gave it back. Int it a positive and pleasant place to be when footballs like that. 1
