Yes, played very well, it was not as one sided as the score would suggest......very good game.

BTW Ryley Towler was in the queue in front of me to get in .

Yeah tbf we scored 2 in the last 5 minutes or so.

Thought it was a really good advertisement for local football and had good battles against the majority of those players over last 2 seasons (Keynsham last season). Although that's FA Cup and semi final of les Phillips so pleased with that!

I like Mangotsfield. Not necessarily been run the best over last few years but think things are changing. May take them a while to get back to precise levels tho.

Would be good to see any of you locals for our games when possible ?

Great result for The Heef last night, made even more incredible considering the perceived gulf between the two clubs both on and off the pitch.

More imporrtantly theres a cheque for £1100 on its way tto BS30 which (at that level) goes along way to help keep the club afloat.

Plus whatever we get for the next round ?

https://www.thefa.com/competitions/thefacup/prize-fund

Extra preliminary round winners (208) £1,125
Extra preliminary round losers (208)  £375
Preliminary round winners (136) £1,444
Preliminary round losers (136) £481

It's only the qualifying rounds where losers receive a payment; when League clubs enter; no win - no payment.

First round proper winners (40) £41,000
Second round proper winners (20) £67,000
Third round proper winners (32) £105,000

Lovely little ground is Mangotsfield....enjoy.

Talking of nice grounds, went to Brimscombe & Thrupp up in Stroud for the first time last Wednesday.

Absolute cracker of a ground, very picturesque...and the Stroud Brewery & Taproom next door for a pre-match pint.

Friend of mines son plays for them,  it's a great ground, love the terrace

For the older ones on here, the covered Cossham Street terrace always reminds me of a smaller  London Rd End at Oxford's old Manor Ground .

BTW, before the advent of the Emersons Green housing complex, Cossham St had TWO school ends !
