Major Isewater
Or not as the case may be. Look at the prize money on offer, makes ‘ Bulls Eye’ prizes look like millionaires paradise. AIl 50 teams participating in the second round will receive 7,000 pounds in prize money. Sixteen losing teams will collect 10k pounds from the third round. The EFL Cup quarter-finalists will receive 20k pounds and the four semi-finalists will receive 25k pounds. 14 mars 2022 5u https://www.sportsunfold.com>efl- EFL Cup 2022 Prize Money Breakdown-SportsUnfold Edited August 11, 2022 by Major Isewater

GrahamC
Reaching the second round earns us the princely sum of £7k, then we are probably going to play in front of a sub 4000 crowd at Wycombe. Can’t see it making much impact on our £38.4m loss. If the new defender is at Frome or Mangotsfield I reckon we’re probably covered.
Port Said Red
Are Caraboa responsible for the prize money? If they are then they are getting a lot of publicity for minimal outlay. Mind you, considering you can buy two cans of their "drink"* for £1 in Home Bargains, I an guessing they don't have a huge profit margin to play with. *To be fair their Mango one is ok especially at that price. At least they have stopped that bonkers draw they did in the first year or two of their sponsorship.

samo II
All about those late round Prem games. It’s why I’m pleased we have Wycombe; even looking at the cup as just an income generation opportunity, be decent to get to the next round and pick up a top tier side at home. maxjak
Unfortunately the League Cup, in it;s many forms has always been noted for it's poor financial rewards? Even when we went on our Man U/Man City adventure.......apart from a couple of decent gate receipts, we only made peanuts, and a tube of Pringle's? Although it was fun, and it got us a lot of good publicity

Although it was fun, and it got us a lot of good publicity It has. We probably made more from the TV coverage than we did in prize money. The two Manchester home games made us a good few quid in gate receipts/merchandise too and the run MAY have got us better fees for Bobby, Joe and Aden I suppose. It probably didn`t cover the £10m we had to pay for Matty Taylor though........................................................... Lrrr
I thought there was actually no prize money until the 1/4 finals but you get 45% of the ticket revenue regardless of being home or away https://sportscriber.com/football/efl-carabao-cup-prize-money/ I've seen this scale quoted in a few different places but could be wrong
