Cardiff v Brum

It doesn’t come as a surprise he’s doing well, always had the talent but but always felt like he wasn’t committed enough, if the going got tough he wouldn’t be seen.

A transfer was always going to be the wake up call but still remains to be seen how consistent he can be and for how long

I might be wrong but I feel especially under Johnson he was never given a consistent run in the team to prove himself. The one time he was given a few games run are fans were raving about how good he was but then he got injured away at hull.

The abuse he got from our fans when he joined Cardiff certainly would of been enough inspiration for him but it’s still early days so we’ll have to wait and see how he keeps going .

Agree. Certainly has talent. Did well for the goal today. Hope he does well. But it was right to let him go as there was no guarantee that he would show his talent consistently or that he would stay fit. Suspect he was on a decent wage with us as well and we all know that we need to save money.

You can tell that after 2 and a bit games ?

And after Cardiff lost to Reading last week ?

Do you know what "looks like" means ? it means it "looks like" they could be battling in play offs; not will be.

Pleased for him - people talk about the witch-hunt on Vyner , but the numbers just waiting , desperate to criticise him and ‘join the gang’ , and pull everything apart about him , was embarrasssing

Agree - talented but usually too cautious when playing for us. By choice or instruction? Who knows? Perhaps he's just been turned into the attacking player he always could have been.

Think O’Dowda needed a change. Everything too cosy at Ashton Gate while he was here. O’Dowda is doing the job he should have been doing regularly at AG by the evidence of his performance first half. Think he lost both confidence and motivation as well as playing in unsettled side. Definitely got ability if used right, but keeping his confidence up is a must as he seems to be a bit flakey when the going gets tough. Seems to have a lot of aggresive players supporting him in this Cardiff team to do all the dirty stuff letting him focus on his attacking duties more. But early days, lets see if the form continues.

He looks like a different player. Fair play to him. We saw glimpses of his ability at city but not this form. Has to be down to confidence

If they had a decent goalscorer they would be at least 3 up by now. Cod really has been ripping down the line and sending countless balls into the box. Flash in the pan or he`s been let of the leash/given more freedom.?

Give it a month and he’ll be back to mediocrity. League 2/1 player at absolute best.

Totally agree.

His six years of continual under achievement were as disappointing as they were frustrating and epitomised the safe, comfy, family feel Bristol City of that period.

He’s a Cardiff player now of course; and given the reception double winning legends Pack and Flint have received at Ashton Gate for going there it will be interesting to say the least what O’Dowda gets on August 21st.

George tanner will let him know what its like to be tackled.

Sadly looks like Cardiff will be battling in play offs this season

Third game into the season. I don’t know how long you’ve followed football but you have to get used the ups & downs in a season . What happens in the first few games rarely reflects upon a full season.

Watching second half and haven't seen anything to make me think Cardiff are anything to write home about. This phase of the game almost totally controlled by Brum, who are nothing special themselves.

Something to note, perhaps, is that Cardiff live dangerously times in and around their own box, when trying to play out from the back. Got away with it so far, but pressure from a disciplined pressing side could easily force an error.
