Only an idiot would write a team off just after about 2 months of football anyway.

well said

remember newcastle a few years ago. 12 point lead and managed to bung it down the pan

so why not the other way

we still got plenty of time. true would be better to have 20 points by now but there you go

It just shows how OTT some of the doom-mongering on here was after Tinman was sacked. I recall plenty of posts predicting relegation with varying degrees of certainty. That was just a few days away, but how stupid that all looks now.

Of course, it's all part of the cliched 'emotional rollercoaster'. We're at the top of a peak at the moment, even though it's a one-match winning run! The only thing you can absolutely guarantee is that at some point we'll plunge back down into a living hell!!!

But hey, let's enjoy the good times while they last. Reality is bound to set in sooner or later, somewhere between the high of hailing GJ as the Messiah and the low of previous weeks. So let's make the most of feeling good.

Because we're Bristol City...so it won't last! :city:

If we were 10 points off the top at Christmas I'd be confident we could catch it up, given that its not even October hopefully we've just had our blip way before the other teams get theirs!

Seriously unless Forest put a run together there's no good teams in this division likely to run away with it, so a relatively low number of points should be needed to go up with everyone beating each other, which should help us as we sail past them all!

Hull went up last season with 86 points.

To match that City need another 76 points with 36 games in which to do it which is an average of just over 2 points per game.

So.......22 wins and 10 draws should do it! It does mean though' that City can only afford to lose 4 more games all season.
