graham b Posted October 27, 2003 Report Share Posted October 27, 2003 Yesterday I was fortunate enough to watch a fighting display of football between the Southampton Saints and the City Ladies. Two extremely evenly matched sides played out an excellent game and after 90 minutes it looked as though the City Ladies would be coming out with a somewhat unfortunate loss in this key top of the table match. However this did not account for the teams determination, possibly superior fitness and a referee who added on over 10 minutes for stoppages. Two goals in injury time, both from set plays, turned the game around to advantage. Great credit should go to the players for never giving up and to Jack Edgar and his management team for producing a side with such an abundance of enthusiasm. If the first team on Tuesday could match the spirit shown by the Ladies side then anything is possible. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
