zookeeper
Bit confused why he is back over here ?!?!Was it not Dave L that was a mate of his ?? Maybe Dave can shed some light on the situation . . .Over to you Dave . . .Well I'm not Dave but the Bath gazette said that he was moving back home after a succesful summer running the Charlton soccer schools and John Laycock jokingly said that it was down to his wife! Dave L
He has been keen to get back to England for a while. The Spanish soccer schools went really well, and he's maintaining connections out there, but the offer to get involved at Bath was too good to miss out on. I think he's coming back more as a coach than as a player, although I'm sure he'll have something to offer on the pitch if called upon.
old_man_terry
You have to be joking?Tinnon's best days at the club were his last 3 seasons, by this time he was settled and no club were going to risk spending big money due to his age, there was no chance he would have choose to go to another club anyway. If Tinnon was an average division 3 midfielder that what level are Johnson, Skuse, Noble etc...? The guy in my opinion is the best City player in the last 15 years.LJ, Skuse and Noble are young players who are improving, think there is little doubt that Johnson and Skuse will go onto play at a higher level, especially Skuse.best player in last 15 years, personally I'd say Jacki best my a mile, followed by Agostino then Tinnion
hitchin red2
We had a good chat with Tins today before the Hitchin vs Team Bath game. He came on as a second half sub and helped his team to a 3-1 win.He looked well up for it and his left foot shone out as usual. He was in really good spirits and looking forward to getting back to Bristol after a good break in Spain. He's commuting from Spain at the moment because his family is still out there, but he's planning to move back to his old house soon.He wants to keep the soccer school going in Spain and is planning to open more in the Bristol area (I think he said in conjunction with Laycock). Laycock also wants him to get involved in player representation as well - we had a good laugh about that one after his well documented dislike for agents and the whole Carey to Coventry thing. It was really good to see him looking well and in a very positive frame of mind. Debate it all you like, but he'll always be a City legend for me.
old_man_terry
did you mention City at all?wonder what he thinks of going ons since he left?would be good if he moved into being an agent for the younger players though
The Fat Controller
would be good if he moved into being an agent for the younger players thoughBy all accounts Tinnion is a fantastic Coach. Whilst he may not be Mr Motivator, or Man Management Guru, his coaching is reputedly first rate.
Keepers Ball
Tinnion in my eyes is a legend and if I'm honest I miss him being at the club.Lansdown buggered that up by stupidly offering him the job when he should have worked his way up. Tinnion (i believe) was offered the opportunity to bring in a more experienced Assistant, which, IMO, would have been a much better option. However, Tinnion is still a legend. Just what did we achieve while Tinnion was at the club as player or manager? He got through enough managers in his time.In my opinion, Tinnion is gone & along with Laycock & Fawthorp, the club can now move forward.Long term servent & average one dimension - that was Tinnion.Still we all have different views. The bloke was class, could land the ball anywhere and produced a shed load of assists in his time here. Lacked the pace needed for the next step up but at City's level there cant be any doubting his quality. Short memories in football eh........ bcfcphoenix
Only be remembered for his goal at anfield i'm afraiddisagree. i think his lasting memory for me as a player will be the key role he played in creating all those goals for murray in that season where scotty score about 28. tins dropped many balls on a tenpence for him that year. only now mcalister is here do we have any options for cross-field passing that even compare to what he gave us.
