I know he was head coach but that term is used to mean both manager and head coach. I would restrict his influence to on-field matters (as Curtis Fleming and co are). MA wasn't manager in the real sense. He may have taken on that role but he wasn't employed as a manager.

Not every experienced, proven manager is like Nigel Pearson. They are all unique.

The only bit I don't agree with is keeping LJ. I might have made him coach and got someone in above him as manager but I don't think he had the right qualities to be in charge.

The problem is that there are too many variables to quantify it in those terms. It appears to be a more complex problem which is fluid, constantly changing and evolving, whether it be finances, players, personalities, personnel (management as well as players), recruitment…
