Why is it underwhelming?
He’s a 19 year old from the national league.
Lots of clubs want him. If we manage to get him it’ll be quite a coup to be fair.
He’s not ready to step straight into Championship football. He needs a bit more experience first.
If part of the deal to secure his signing is an agreement to go back on loan this season, then it’s good business.
Hey, listen - I’ve always been the first one to be critical of our recruitment. But there is nothing to get angry about on this one.
It’s a low fee for a sought after player.Totally agree with all that, what I meant was it underwhelming in terms of what the rest of this season looks like, as imo we still need to add 1 more that can add to the first team straight away

Nobody has mentioned Murphy, where does he fit in to this as he looks a similar player.
Exactly and if they both aren’t ready are we just stockpiling 10’s for the future

Nowhere near £1m. Sorry.
Mightily underwhelming if he goes back to Aldershot for the season though, still hope we bring in one more attacking player but can’t see it now

No.
I think part of any deal might be that Aldershot want him loaned back for the rest of this season. They still want to get into the playoffs and Stokes will be integral to them achieving that. This would be really disappointing if he isn’t involved straight away, especially as the rumoured fee is £1 million

We are going to get hurt by this one, given him the 7, now bound to be a key player in the way manning wants to play, no buy option… got never fall in love with a loan player written all over it
-
Got to be honest the no buy option seriously worries me I don’t see any long term upside of this for us

2:30 has come and gone then...
Wonder if this is actually going to happen today or if there will be a holding statement tonight I.e. permission given to speak to cover the reason for him not being at Oxford game

So… I understand we’re being afforded a 30 minute window to mourn Curtis Fleming?
2:30 Fleming leaving announcement? 3:00 Manning Appointment?

New banner outside Lions.
Not the most welcoming is it, but of a disgrace from the lions if you ask me, all need to get behind Manning!

The likes of Gary O'Neill etc used to not take LJ seriously because they could see right through the bullshit he spoke.
The same will happen with our current players and Manning.
Although I understand the comparison due to age, I think that’ll be the end of the similarity. I think Mannings man management will be better i.e. he won’t be walking in a telling the dressing room how much he used to earn as a championship footballer…

Reading here seems quite a good chance that FL will be the new 'Head coach' or 'Manager'... especially from the poster few pages back who really seems ITK re the friend of FL We shall see on this.
He has played at the highest level, he has worked with managers at the highest levels and if you cannot draw experience from that then we are all doomed. I was a great fan of NP and still very p1ssed off at his departure, but the king is dead, long live the king !
Re this Head coach v Manager. Some time earlier this year at a senior Robins lunch down the Gate, Steve Lansdown was guest speaker. As always came across very well. I actually asked him when he was on the floor, taking questions, why NP was a manager and the previous incumbents were Head Coaches.... what was the difference. He actually replied to effect.. None and he was not bothered what they called themselves, all a bit strange and I was none the wiser
So will FL (or who ever) be the HC or the manager, and TBH seems irrelevant.
You my friend have fallen for a lie

This is just not happening, it’ll be between Manning, Mousinho and Williams

Arnt Luton getting Nakambe from Villa on loan? That would be the ‘replacement’ for Cornick.

Why would Tinnion tweeting 'exciting day ahead' cause panic in the hierarchy?
Because they know the fans are now expectant and excited. Bad PR.

What's your info so far?
There is a bit of panic in the hierarchy after Tins set up an exciting day on twitter earlier. It looks like Cornick won’t be done due to Luton wanting a replacement which they don’t have lined up. Jake O’brien is tough because they are negotiating with both Palace and his current loan club. Currie is being held by AFCW although he really wants to move. City want all 4 but could end up with just 1 today.
