  1. Bought my little lad the 7-8 away kit £40 plus £6 postage.

Arrived today and the quality really is not great, especially in comparison to premier league replicas or ‘proper kits’, as he calls them ?

Major gripe is that the sewn in O Neil’s logo is really rough on the inside and apparently makes the kit itchy…

His Mum is sorting it out, but not something you should expect for a £40 plus kids shirt…

  2. If I was a Gas Head I would be asking what the Consortium is planning regarding the development at the ‘Colony’?

There should be no planning issues holding up the works at this site and as they are on a rolling tenancy at their current hovel, surely if they are genuinely investing in BRFC, then this should surely be their first capital spend?

I wonder why nothing has been mentioned?

  3. It would be a CVA mate.... apologies for being a smart arse.

Would make no obvious sense in this context.

An equity investment could have been made as it could be more tax efficient and further debt (loans) to an entity with no reasonable prospect of repayment, may be v difficult to justify on a corporate level.

We need to warn everyone around on behalf of our egg chasing Bristol Sport cousins and their ground loss.

Bristol Rovers are like a vampire - never invite them in!

    Or maybe an infestation...

Particularly as Bath RFC still have not resolve their stadium plans.

Gas and Bath City merger and a ground share with Bath Rugby would suddenly make a Twerton development look commercially attractive.

    Watch this space.....

  5.

I'm fairly certain they have had it chaps.

From the latest noises emanating from Chernobyl,  it appears to be a fire sale and if a buyer cannot be found very quickly then all subsequent options will v bad news for the Blue Few.

I genuinely believe that within 12-24 months they will end up 'back where they belong' - ground sharing with Bath City in L2.

Obv we are going to laugh long and hard in the short term, but celebrating the financial demise of any football club (even them!) leaves a bit of a nasty taste.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not suggesting we give them any 'help' (we all remember '82 etc) but should we really 'gloat' if / when the brown stuff finally hits the fan.......

  6. It seems that this latest DS Charge against the Mem , pretty much confirms that the Gas can no longer be seen as even a potential competitor.

Redeveloping the Mem or finding a new green/brownfield site to develop just does not stack up commercially for anyone other than a Rovers supporting billionaire.... and anyone that rich, will not be that stupid.

£40M is the absolute minimum needed to deliver a 'Championship Ready' Stadium/Training Ground/Academy and no commercial third party will invest that sum on such a speculative project as BRFC - a recently non- league club, with zero assets, very moderate home support and a long history of mediocrity.

There is no 'untapped potential' in Bristol to tempt a consortium, we have all of the above already in situ and a very, very wealthy fully committed owner As a result  and it will be very, very difficult to challenge us off the field commercially with conferencing/corporate hospitality given our 20(+) year head start and without that any significant external investment becomes a non starter.

I think we all have to get used to the fact that unless something very surprising, happens very soon, BRFC will have completely disappeared in our rear view mirror.....

I actually think you might be right!

They were moving out of Bristol (again) anyway, so why not..?

For the reasons that you state, it actually does make sense to all parties.

Hey, Forest Green have even got football league status now, which could come in handy, with the way things are going..!

It does have some compelling logic.....

  8. The Gas will merge with Forest Green in the next 3 years.

    You heard it here first.

FGR have £££ and infrastructure, but no fans...

Rovers are (comparatively!) well supported and will not have a pot to piss in when Wael is told the game is up by the grown ups and the Mem has to be sold to clear the debts.
