Do you know who exactly is going to be ultimately responsible for this new unexpected legal bill debt?, you know the the bill for the water tight case?.

I wonder if Wally has a Sainsbury's get out clause? or has Higgs done the club, it's fans and Wally up like a kipper for one final time?.

I have a strong feeling that the future for Rovers is still very bleak.  There is something about this Wael guy that doesn't stack up - who in their right mind would take on a club considering he knew about all this shambles and the legal costs he would likely have to stump up?  I have still not seen any evidence that he is actually a billionaire?!

bMe being stupid?..that from a supporter of a club that's spent 100 million pounds to not get in the Premiership.

I don't think your new owner even has 100 million pounds?

Admit it, your fans have had a shocker.  There were countless posts on social media and forums from your fans claiming that you were now a super rich club.

In reality, all evidence suggests that this guy is not that wealthy at all. Certainly not compared to Steve L.

When Man Utd was bought though they had 70k+ stadium and were the world most commercially successful club (and pretty successful on the pitch too) - the debt for them is huge but serviceable.

Marketing the sags and turning a profit is going to be a ridiculously difficult task....I'm sure the Jordanians are eyeing up a new bigger unit in Kingswood tonight probably next to some Charity shop for the new "Megastore"

I can't get my head around how they see this as a good investment other than through land ownership and or building a new stadium and having it as their asset.

The football will be a secondary concern loaded with debt.

Agree. Thats what makes this so sinister. It seems like financial suicide unless they have a plan.

If the £70m is true then that ain't a lot and they will have to see a return on that, otherwise they'll be worth £30m.

More importantly, If £70m is true its very unlikely they will invest any of their own hard earned cash. They will take out loans which will shaft the club in the long run if it doesn't work out.

The glaziers are essentially doing the same thing at man united.

  5. I can't believe how excited they all are. Similar take overs have been catastrophic for other clubs.  The fact all of the current board have stepped down would concern me because there is no voice of reason if they do something canon and try and change the clubs name or colours etc...

Add to that, nobody seems to know how much money they have and are willing to invest?! They could just take out loans in the clubs name and not invest their own cash = disaster.

Interesting that Hicks didn't want to talk about how much money was involved etc?! Probably because if the fans knew then there would be carnage.

Take out funding UWE and that's halved. Who knows, one things for sure if I was a rovers fan I'd be cautiously optimistic but definitely want to know plans going forward and how things would be funded.  Last thing they want to do is be renting the new ground as example. I'd imagine we'd be the same if in same situation.

    Press conference at 1:30 then

And forgetting the fact that if they are only worth 70 million they probably don't want to spunk all their cash on a crap football club.

My guess is they want to own a football club in England because it will make things easier for them to grow their business here.

If I was a Rovers fan I would be very skeptical about this unless it turns out they have billions... (I am assuming they don't because they would of set their sights a bit higher than the horse punchers)

  7. I always thought that every football club had an equal share of 'stupid' fans.  But almost every post on the Rovers forum is utter dross, they don't seem to be capable of saying anything even remotely sensible.

Makes some people on here look like bloody Einstein!

  8. Sainsburys did everything legal and above board it was rovers who tried to change the conditions of the contract they only have themselfs to blame here

Exactly, given the track record of their board is anyone surprised that it looks like they have massively cocked up again?!

Utter shambles.  So is there a genuine chance that this will put them in the brown stuff financially?

  9. Just to play devil's advocate (and I caveat not necessarily representative of my own views) ... oh boy his will not be popular...

The FBI have clearly been investigating this matter earnestly. They are confident enough in the evidence they have collected to launch these dawn raids against 14 individuals. It's important also that they were able to convince the Swiss authorities that their evidence was strong enough to secure full cooperation (remember this is Switzerland - Mr Neutral..).

Therefore if there was truly anything on Mr Blatter do you not think:

    a) they would have uncovered it during the investigation which was thorough enough to collect the requisite evidence against these other 14. Not only did they collect enough evidence, that evidence was strong enough to convince the Swiss authorities to assist in raids carried out by foreigners (the FBI) within their jurisdiction; and

    b) if there were matters relating to Mr Blatter to investigate these raids would not have occurred until that investigation was complete in order to not put that investigation in jeopardy.

Now that's outta the way I'm not sure where my opinion is - whether I believe perhaps Blatter is innocent of corruption or whether this is just the start. The fact that it's a US-led initiative I think they would be gunning for the guy at the top first and foremost - just not sure how to interpret the failure to land him.

Think you have over thought this one considering it has only just happened.  Maybe Blatter is elsewhere and will be arrested later, or they don't quite have the goods on him at this stage.

Either way, there is no way that Blatter has not had a hand in the 'alleged' corruption.

  10. If there was widespread corruption then Septic Bladder must have been in the know - he has been in post for so many years.

No Sh*t.  Its the worlds worst kept secret that the organization is rotten to the core and Blatter is a fundamental part of that.  Its just amazing how nobody has been arrested sooner.

Hopefully this is the start of creating a transparent and non-profit football governing body.  That is the dream.
