  1. My boys played in the top division in the Hanham minor league then the Avon youth league and parents on the sideline were nothing but embarrassing
  2. I seem to remember that Lewis Haldane seemed to win a penalty every other game
  3. I think historically Rovers seem to have had far more opponents sent off particularly at fortress Mem
  4. I appreciate it’s difficult working in the bookies these days, long hours for sh1t money, the days of locking the door at 17:00 with no night or Sunday racing and no fruit machines are long gone
  5. Agreed, I had a tenner on a dog which won and when I went to collect she said the bet was void because I put it on too late!! I would of been none the wiser if it lost and would of thrown the ticket away, I was in a no win situation, both situation I have quoted happened in the Bet Fred in Broadmead, miserable bar stewards, (don’t even get me started on the miserable Bet Fred staff at Knowle, luckily there’s a William Hill around the corner)
  6. Appreciate what you’re saying Alex, I know there would be plenty of players who would try it on and say they meant the ‘cartoon race’ if it came in, anyway they split the stake so he had four quids worth, the thing is is if the cartoon race did come in he would of been none the wiser and threw the ticket away, either way he’s learnt a lesson, in regards to the cashier knowing what race it should of been is laughable as the ones I come across are usually to busy watching Jeremy Kyle or painting their nails
  7. Hi Alex, seeing as you are in the bookie trade see if you can answer this query, a mate of mine had a bet in a Bet Fred shop on Saturday Morning, he put an £8 forecast intended on a dog race in the 11:59 (3 to beat 1) which came in, it transpired there was also an 11: 59 cartoon horse race, being as he didn’t write trap 3&1 or didn’t put the name of the meeting how would this be resolved? Just for your interest William Hill policy is that they pay out on the main meeting
  8. Dead right about his stubbornness regarding the formation, Little in particular was way out of his depth in that formation at Championship level yet he constantly persisted with it, still got the upmost respect for Cotterill though for that great season
  9. There is absolutely no chance he will go there.
  10. Paul Hurst down to 6/1, he’s yer man
  11. Will be amazed If Cotterill applied (despite still living down the docks) I reckon Hurst is your man
  12. I get why many would say it’s their best away day and have no argument with that but for me Cov’ ‘77 beats it hands down, also Newport & Chester away were memorable for various reasons, Swansea and Brum in ‘89/‘90 were good fun as well, all my best away games seem to be at least 25 years ago !!!!
  13. That was a crazy day, in my top five of best ever away games
  14. That’s correct, a lot of bad feeling there
  15. It’s all “my” with him, “my net”, “my club” “my fans” I think he actually believes it
  16. The Gas are like the OB, as individuals they are fine but as a collective they are vile ?
  17. Hate Clarke’s arrogance “my fan base” he says, no it’s not your fan base
  18. That was funny, didn’t he say that he was being stared at by a Rovers fan who had his eyes looking in two different suburbs of London ?
  19. All gone quiet regarding the training ground, what is happening with that?
  20. Derby was live on Sky on a Friday night to be fair, that was a decent turnout at Forest though
  21. Stoke would attract a few I imagine but we still have long trips to the Sheff clubs, Leeds, Boro, Hull, Norwich, Ipswich & a couple in Lancashire so our average is going to take a big hit
  22. Forest & Derby possibly depending on the time & day of KO, have we recently taken more than a 1000 to these fixtures recently ?
