  1. I`m absolutely fuming. Getting CCC football at AG next season has to be the BIGGEST slap in the face the club has delivered yet !! :disapointed2se:

No, the biggest slap was the one in the face of loyal fans & families who've kept this mob in existence for the last nine seasons.

  2. How about this one Sunderland can accommodate 48,300 Aston Villa 42,553 Derby 33, 597 and Bristol City around 20,000

Given these simple facts it seems pretty easy to work out that our prices will have to be greater than theirs to allow us to generate reasonable revenue and it is therefore far from surprising that they can offer season tockets at less than we can.

So on that basis Man Utds would be fourpence & Colchesters £5,000 :noexpression:

    Try again :disapointed2se:

  3. Some things in this life are out of our control i.e. council tax, income tax and interest rate rises that all happen, we moan but we pay, we will go out and buy a new car and as soon as you drive it off the forecourt you have lost a minimum £1500.

Cheap car to start with, then :whistle2:

Thousands of city fans have been watching absolute dire football for the last nine seasons and i have to be honest the increase is well worth paying just to avoid those trips to the likes of Chesterfield, Carlisle and Tranmere.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to reward that kind of loyalty, would it?.Particularly as when we are in the sh1t again, and as sure as day follows night we will be, those people will be asked to keep the faith and buy ST 's again

We will have the opportunity to watch a better class of football, go to some different grounds, new ones like Southampton who have all four sides covered instead of standing in the pouring rain at Yeovil.

Could well be at Yeovil next season

The argument that we are paying the same if not more than some premiership clubs does not stack up,

    Yes it does

those in the top tier get sqillions of pounds in TV and sponsorship money

    Correct

and the take through the turnstile is a small portion of their turnover,

Wrong. The majority of Man Utds income is till via ticket sales and people visiting Old Trafford on matchdays

where clubs in the lower divisions are reliant upon the gate reciepts.

They may be more reliant in some cases but City, for example, have speonsors & TV money just not as much as Prem Clubs.

    Rant over.

Nothings changed because the premise is wrong. We are not competing with Premier League Clubs for ST sales or an audience.Neither will we compete in the transfer market with them, we can't unless SL decides to plough more of his personal fortune into the club and he gives little indication of doing that.

Prem Clubs will have to spend about 4-8 times what we will on wages and far more on transfers/signing on fees, so they need as much as they can get. They are reducing prices for one reason-People stopped going and, if prices go up, even more will. The game is being slowly priced beyond it's customer base and £30 to sit in The Dolman to watch Colchester on a wet & cold Thursday night, ain't going to happen.

As you say, people may well renew this season or buy an ST because of their excitement or the novelty of Championship Football.Corporate Hosp may well boom due to the attraction of the opposition in the main and that's an area where I have no issue with the club cashing in because those are the people who'll walk away, unlike me, if we're relegated or are unsuccesful.

Loyalty may well be a forgotten word in Football-but that cuts both ways as Wigan, Blackburn & Bolton all found out last season.Sunderland previous regime took their fans for granted and lost 10,000 ST Holder last season that they have had to reduce prices to bring back, even on the back of promotion.

Forget the TV because if people walk away from the game it will die and, as you have said, that's even more relevant from a lower league perspective.

  4. I found out today that a season ticket for Derby is £360!! and they could be in the premiership next week!!

Villa ARE in The Premiership and a Holt End Adult ST is cheaper than an EE or Atyeo.

Oh and as a note to the poster-excellent post-but my ST in The Dolman is £455 (£105 up on last season) and only £20 cheaper than a seat behind the goal at Old Trafford. If I paid on the day it would be........wait for it...........£690..........which is £5 per game DEARER than a seat behind the goal at Old Trafford, based on 23 games

The disconnect I've described at our club is becoming a chasm

Can I also make a comment about the income disparity that is in some quarters (EP) being trotted out as an excuse for this hike and moreover to explain why Premier Clubs, in some cases can charge less. They have about £29m more in TV Money.

Fine, however, they also have far higher wage bills, signing on fees, more staff and spend most of that extra income in the transfer market.I can remember Villa spending £14m on Petrov & Young last season.Charlton spent £11m in the last close season.

  5. DEAR ALL,

Well the foreign exiles in particular.

I think it would make an interesting read to here how you finished up where you are, particularly if you started out in Bristol. If not and you started out abroad how did you start follwoing City.

    Not compulsory, just an idea.

  6. NTTDS is going to get the train from Bristol to Derby, where i shall pick him up from, then we are going to drive to East Midlands Airport, and fly to Prague, for a connecting flight to Singapore.

Then by ferry to Hong Kong, for another ocean going liner to Sydney, for a flight to Wellington, and another to Los Angeles.

Then by train to Chicago, then drive down to Miami, where we will swim through shark infested seas to Cuba, and after a cuba libre or 2, we will get a Fair Trade Banana boat to Cardiff for the relatively short drive to Bristol, parking up at Hotwells, and walking trough the park, to Ashton Gate!!.

    :icecream:

So in brief, you're travelling with Bakers Dolphin :10_1_108:

  7. I'm not coming for the match from Chicago, however its 50/50 that I come over the awards on Tuesday...Dad is in the mix for fan of the year...and I might not be able to resist the temptation to kiss Gary Johnson (no tongues) at the promotion party.

Keep Smiling everyone only three days to go :englandsmile4wf:

I've just worked out that I do 6,000 Miles a Year Coming to HOME games........what do I get for that??

    I know, I know

    LAUGHED AT :innocent06:

  8. Anybody know if the Wurzels have been contracted for pre match entertainment? that would be something.

Yes, something like three random old blokes pulled from the crowd wandering about the pitch like they've got Altziemers. :disapointed2se:

Also something highly unimaginative...........so that's it confirmed then :whistle2:

  9. 22A... How about trying to organize a convoy from Membury...(Dear Lord I hate that place)

Just got the heads up from the coach co-ordinator at Bakers Dolphin for that trip. This version is in English but can be supplied in Polish if required. We appreciate you can't read Polish but that's hardly our problem sunshine, is it??

    Membury-Bristol City FC

Leave Membury and travel towards London leaving the M4 at Chiswick.

Turn onto the North Circular and head North signposted A1 The North.

Carry on for appx 400 Miles and you'll see signs for Scotland & Newcastle.......either that or you'll be in the see, either way we ain't bovvered.

    At this point-PANIC.

    Ask where Bristol is

Find out the Newcastle Airport is your best bet with Easyjet

Fly from Newcastle to Cardiff-Well it's to simple to fly to Bristol and you save a quid going to Cardiff and the bridge is free coming out of Wales.

From Cardiff follow signs to Swansea where you can catch a ferry around the coast.

Arrive in France where you can watch the game on Algerian TV.

Please note:You will be required to leave Membury yesterday at 7pm and don't come blaming me and wanting your money back if it goes wrong because delays happen.

    Remember Our Motto

WE'VE HAD YOUR MONEY NOW ***K OFF

  10. Thoroughly dejected, been ill for nearly four months. Keep rebooking my flight from Sydney, but as at today my doctor and surgeon have cancelled any travel in the near future. Even tried to work a 3 hop trip with overnight stopovers.

don't get old and sick, its the final curtain . From an old paratrooper, well done to Sparkeyboy 72 and the other Bristol City lads in Afghanistan, you have my love and respect.

Thought you hadn't been on here much. :(

Hope all goes well mate. :ill:

None of us are getting any younger and following City doesn't help. :D

  11. Phillips & Wilks don't even start regularly and LW's off in the close season anyway.I wouldn't be surprised if SP left as well and Cotts flatters to deceive week in, week out.

I agree about Brooker & Carey and we need to attract the right players.

  12. Without a shadow of a doubt, it has to be...................well,.............................me, really.

    I can see it now.

I'd bring Don Howe in as my defensive coach.

I'd pep up discipline somewhat. For example, the last player in from the cross country run, would be shot.

May sound harsh, I know, but basic speed would improve on average, even if only on the basis that we'd eradicate all the slow players.

All players would be signed on a pay when play basis and strikers on pay when you score.

That would slash Lee Millers wages by 92% at a stroke :dunno:

Injured players would be shot along with the aforementioned slow players, thus eradicating any long term injury problems.

Can't think why nobody's come up with it before.

    I'm off for a lie down :Sleep12:
