I think the houses at Longmoor fund the Sporting Quarter.

That hill by the galleries car park was part of the HM route when I done it and that was 10-15 years ago , like you say not nice
Of course it’s not nice! But if you’ve trained properly it’s still not great but you know you can do it!
the problem with the HM is once you get into the Queen sq etc bit in town it just gets a bit squeezed. Maybe if it went further up the portway it would be better?

I'm working in the Channel Islands atm and spent yesterday on Guernsey. I visited a potential customer, who when I told him I was a Bristol Rovers fan, excitedly told me that Alex Scott, formerly of your parish, was from the island. I let that slide but he went full flow into telling me how much he loved golf and that Steve Lansdown is ploughing £50,000,000 into a luxury hotel and golf course here. I hope it's true and it comes out of your playing budget
It's called "Le Grand Mare". It's not his first . . .

It takes no time at all to buy nothing from an empty shop.
Hang on mate, don’t be too hasty. It’s approaching summer so the full range of beanie hats and branded parkas will be released soon!

How close to a first team is it likely to be?
Assume they are touring around then?
It’s a game against an “Australian XV” which could mean anything really. As much as I enjoyed the SA game a while ago and, more recently, the Crusaders, these games are just an excuse to fill the coffers.

Had a little walk down Welsh Back in the sunshine last week & there is a lot of work going on at what will be Boxhall in the old ? shed. Looking like a nice waterfront terrace looking over/down the floating harbour too. Hoping it's completed in time for proper summer

Anyone been to the Chef's Table next to the Scotia recently? Just booked up for anniversary treat and wondered if the hype is deserved?
Will be going for the Menu Exepcional but the wine flight looks a bit pricey.

Never forget.
Bristol CIty Council's £1.4m 'ransom' barge payment to go ahead - BBC News
The boat is still moored just down the floating harbour towards Bristol Bridge, slowly decaying into nothingness. Our council don't half make some "odd" decisions. . .

That’s exactly where we used to eat and very reasonably priced by Barca standards.
The city is full of Gaudi’s work including the cathedral and the lampposts in Placa Reial. Park Guell and Casa mila where there are no straight lines - a remarkable place.
We went in October for my 50th birthday (probably my 5th time there in 20yrs?) and to see the current state of la Sagrada Famila was amazing. I almost don't want them to ever finish it! We made a beeline for Parc Guell as never been before, beautiful place. We weren't that far from the SF so an early morning 5k run at around 7am (still pretty much pitch black) each day before the pavements got too busy was a no brainer. Definitely one of my favourite places ever.

Thinking of taking a short trip in May. Any must sees, places to visit or recommendations ?
Is the beach area or Town better to stay ?Any ideas would be appreciated .
I don't think it's been mentioned but Placa Reial, just off la Rambla (nearest metro: Liceu) is a great picturesque little square with restaurants/cafes/bars aplenty, lovely tall palm trees & great for a spot of people watching whilst sipping a cold cerveza.

We're 4th as it stands. Newcastle are poor but we are playing some sublime rugby
That was an absolute dream to watch. 3 tries in the first 9 minutes set the tone for the rest of the game, on that sort of form (yes, I know it was only Newcastle) you'd fancy us to beat anyone. Great afternoon in a sunny BS3.
Remaining league games:
Tigers (a) 27/04
The CheatsSarries (h) 11/05Quins (a) 18/05

Not accepting card payments online. Usual farce with Word Pay / Bristol Sport. If you are leaving to the last minute to renew, think again. You might have to use the phone, which is not quick.
Did mine online with card about 10 mins ago, no issues here (apart from chucking good money after bad, of course!)

Anyone who doesn’t think “Drink up thee cider” is one of the greatest songs written is:
1) not from the West Country
2) weird.
C'mon Graham you should know better than that, the correct spelling of course being "Drink up thy Zider"
Looking forward to seeing them Saturday as this weird season finally comes to an end.

The successor restaurant to Al's Tikka Grill is now open in what was Ashton Plate just next to the Coopers on Ashton Road - now named Ali's Curry Palace.
Went there Saturday after the Huddersfield game and it's up to it's usual standards, BYO too so good value night out. Book on 0117-985-5164

I'm a fan, I think they're great.
Speaking to a mate that works for them and they'll have nearly 300 sites by the end of the year. They've opened 36 venues this financial year alone.
Yup. Big fan of the original on North St. I do wonder though wether they’ve overstretched themselves in their seemingly relentless expansions.

How does the rugby have anything to do with Jon?
He’s on the board of directors.

As is usual for the shambles that is Bristol Sport the season tickets for the family areas were on sale from at least 1145 (I know, as i logged on easily that early) today and so I’d imagine a lot of the “prime” seats got snapped up before most people had even logged on at midday.
Not only is the decision shite but it’s not even a level playing field when it comes to buying tickets!
But Jon won’t care.
Rob Newman would be an excellent Head of Recruitment
