Is there any benefit to having them in the city? Detracts from City, Bears and Flyers who would likely benefit from them moving out of the city or going non-league permanently. 

Would be great for all of the above and Bristol Sport (and sport in Bristol), how about replacing them with rugby league or an American football team or speedway or something? Would have more than an air of karmic justice also.

Why isn't it a place they can call theirs after owning it for more or less 20 years, basically a quarter of a century? After they stole the ground (would have loved a forensic financial investigation) halted all further developments, didn't maintain properly, and almost caused the rugby club to go extinct with pure greed and short termism, surely it's all of their own making. 

They have had a prime asset for so long and have now squandered it all. I have no real sympathy.

Speaking of that, just noticed from the piece linked above (http://www.rageonline.co.uk/fans-view-2019-20-no-8-bristol-rovers-away/) that Dwane Sports Ltd own 92.6% of Bristol Rovers 1983 Ltd... so using their logic they're a year younger?

It would be ironic and I would get a kick out of it but it just shows how much the Bears have grown when 20k is probably too small given the upward trend and realistic ambition. With some success at the upper end of the table and Europe well over 20k averages is likely, it's not far off now. Last season in respective leagues Bears doubled Rovers average attendance plus 26k highest vs 10k highest for Gas, the difference is more than they can even fit in the memorial ground... which coincidentally is also what they've sadly run it into.

Bristol Sport have shown what could have been done if Rovers had any sense instead of blind, selfish short termist greed and thievery/skullduggery. Reaping what was sown all those years ago. Mutually beneficial top class football of all kinds at the wonderful Ashton Gate is on the horizon, plus all the community work and everything else. At this stage what benefits do Rovers bring to sport in this city? Where will they be in 10 years time?

Hope that never happens, a bit of red is fine and the last two designs have been great and good respectively. Probably end up looking like Glaws. Would have been nice to have a red away kit and maybe a nod to Bris in City away kit but that was before rebrand and bears. 

Now I would love to tie the clubs together with the purple and lime kits, not exactly common in either sports.

Prefer last season's kit but it's still good. I think this one needed hoops on the arms like the previous year, it's lacking white too.

I like the modernisation of our shirts, the colour scheme of predominantly blue with white and a splash of red isn't common in rugby so it's good from a marketing perspective. 

Re-signings are the most important for me, as will be other re-signings later in the year. Every one of these is significant, would like to see the likes of Sheedy, Prothero and Woolmore added to the extensions/new contracts too.

Doubt it would happen but I would giggle and expect no relegation to arrive at the last minute. What's interesting to me is that Rugby Pass' RPI had a similar projection on form before the break (Bris were 6th then though after the Northampton win).

Maybe that will cheer some up.

We are Wuss' cup final but we never seem to realise it.

Glad I'm not there as I'd be very miserable. How there wasn't a penalty awarded for that scrum demolition at the end I have no idea, Luke Pearce again does the dirty on Bris. 

I won't be there unfortunately, but will be watching live on the rugby pass so I hope everyone who is going makes up for the absence of that myopic shouty bloke in the Lansdown.

Falcons looked good at Ashton Gate, definitely not the worst side we've seen there this season... Just that we were better on the day. I think that really took the wind out their sails as they targeted and wanted that win but didn't get it.

They won't, we are their cup final (as are Leicester) and they're always up for the game.

Way the season is going we could send down Worcester if we let Newcastle win on the last day of the season. Would prefer to win though. 

Still buzzing from win over Glaws, much needed.

Saints away will be a tough game but it is winnable, we were absolutely robbed by a poor ref decision again in the reverse fixture earlier in the season (try scorer was told tackle held/complete when it clearly wasn't on review - even though assistant and TMO said he wasn't but overruled). We would have had 5 league points from that. 

As for atmosphere it used to be like that a lot of the time at Bris, I don't think the move to all-seating and away from long time fellow terrace dwellers helped. We're getting there though. Think if we keep improving on the pitch things will off it.

Much as we loved our old home before Rovers took it and ran the place into the ground with no upkeep and investment, we're all grown up now at Bris and don't even mind the Bear bit too much as it's injected new life into the club, plus makes us globally marketable and the kids love it. When was the last time Rovers had a 26,000+ home attendance? Yesterday we had 18,500 at AG, well over double the Gas' largest attendance ALL SEASON versus Newcastle who are not a big draw, sat at the bottom of the league and brought maybe 20 fans at best... plus the unmentionables down the road had a home game at the same time which no doubt attracts a lot of floating support. In fact, when did Rovers last sell out our old ground even?...

City are our welcome family who recognise what we can achieve together, no whinging at the state of the pitch either as it's actually looked after unlike when I went to watch Gas in away end earlier this year when I was shocked (actually, I wasn't) to see the pitch in an even worse state than when we were there doubling it's use! We have been shown what true co-operation and development looks like rather than fleecing, stealing and hostility. So they can try to mock the Bears all they want but really we couldn't care less; more than happy with where we are now and excited for the future. Come on you Reds/Bears! Happy New Year.

Great win but the atmosphere is bugging me. We've lost a couple of songs/chants since the move and it's definitely a lot "nicer", I think the lack of terracing plays a factor. It could be much worse but maybe we need to borrow S82 for a couple of matches to remind everyone how to be noisier again. Barf game at AG was pretty decent though.

Might go to Exeter away, any kind of points would be excellent and we could do with settling some scores. So pleased with that Newcastle win, they're a tough side and stuck to their plan well.

Hopefully it means rugby gets more popular, more TV/media coverage, more money in the game, more professional leagues (in time), etc... CVC bought Formula 1 a while back and turned a large profit (8 billion pounds?), I think they've been involved with Moto GP too and now Premiership Rugby. Practically, in the short term this would mean all the 13 P share holders (all current clubs plus London Irish) get a chunk of cash up front -something like £20million each- in exchange for sharing the income with CVC who will heavily market the product in this country and elsewhere to make a decent ROI.

Could all go wrong, of course but they're still minority holders so that lessens the risk somewhat. Both codes of rugby deserves to be bigger and this could well be the catalyst that Union needs to push on to greater things.
