  1. Probably the best performances we’ve had under manning were all about emotion/passion. West Ham home and away, and Southampton home. The players would have wanted to prove they could beat a prem team, and a team doing well in the championship. That would have involved emotion from an individual and collective point of view.

As an Oxford fan, I hope he gets you relegated and he ends up sacked.
Manning has shown he’s got no loyalty. He was doing nothing prior to his appointment, the Oxford board took him on and backed him to the hilt in the close season, now he’s shown that a sniff at the Championship and he’s off, leaving Oxford in the shit.  13 games where he managed to keep us up, just, then got us to 2nd in League One in what is a poor division.

If he’d left at the end of the season, fair enough, but to do it a third of the way through is galling.

    Hope QPR beat you Saturday.

    regards

I guess fair play for asking questions that most fans are asking but I can't imagine JL gives a response and also I'm pretty sure Joe Sims is pretty 'in' with the club so won't be upsetting the hierarchy much.

Spot on, was gonna post something similar. Sims is right up their backsides, he won’t be asking anything that upsets them.

Reading here seems quite a good chance that FL will be the new 'Head coach' or 'Manager'...  especially from the poster few pages back who really seems ITK re the friend of FL😀 We shall see on this.

He has played at the highest level, he has worked with managers at the highest levels and if you cannot draw experience from that then we are all doomed. I was a great fan of NP and still very p1ssed off at his departure, but the king is dead, long live the king !

Re this Head coach v Manager.  Some time earlier this year at a senior Robins lunch down the Gate,  Steve Lansdown was guest speaker.  As always came across very well.  I actually asked him when he was on the floor, taking  questions, why NP was a manager and the previous incumbents were Head Coaches.... what was the difference.  He actually replied to effect.. None and he was not bothered what they called themselves, all a bit strange and I was none the wiser 😀

So will FL (or who ever) be the HC or the manager, and TBH seems irrelevant.

    The friend is this thing

Really? Lampard? Did average at Derby with millions to spend. Went nowhere with Chelsea (although admittedly that also happened to someone like Potter who I do regard highly, but this was after that unhinged American came in whereas lampard had Roman) and then scraped by with Everton who are a complete mess so it's hard to judge.

Zero confidence he has any tactical awareness. One of the worst performances I've ever seen was his Everton side getting taken to the cleaners at Spurs a few years back.

    Exactly!

What lunatic goes away to a spurs side that includes Kane and Son, and plays a high line with a defence that includes the likes of Keane, holgate, Coleman and Kenny??

Everyone could see what would happen there…. and it did!

Meets the club at 11am today. That has come from a very good friend of his. HE WILL be our manager by the end of tomorrow Friday. He will be at Ashton Gate on Saturday to watch the team. I don't care if people want to dismiss what I've said, but my friend is someone who has known Frank since they were both at West Ham in the mid 90s and Frank has openly told him since Sunday afternoon, he wants this job. He sees us as an under achieving team who should be in the Premier League.

The posted above who said his agent met the club, that is not true in the slightest. Frank technically doesn't have an agent, he has a business manager, and financial consultant, but neither of those get involved in football related matters. He approached a member of our staff, and he was put in touch with someone. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them on Monday, saying why he wanted the job, and made it clear, he is serious about taking Bristol City to the Premier League.

Since then, he has been sorting out personal matters and meets the club today, but he wants the job. Also, I've read that people are saying Jody Morris will come with him, he won't. As said on the other thread the other day, Michael Johnson, the England Under 18 coach will be coming with him, as his assistant, not Jody. Frank is heavily impressed by our academy and youth development and thinks that he and Johnson can help progress a number of youngsters and take the club forward.

Call out all you want, say what you want, and if I am wrong I am wrong, but I won't be. Since Frank got in touch, the club turned their attentions away from Eustace and Rowett and feel that Lampard matches the clubs ambition and remit.

I will say it one final time, and wont be posting again until he is announced as manager, which means if he isn't, I wont post again full stop. Frank Lampard will be our new manager, he is expected to sign a deal today and it will be announced tomorrow, and he will be at the game on Saturday. Michael Johnson will assist him.

So he hasn’t been for an interview yet… but he will be our new manager 🤔

Lampard clearly isn't a very good coach. His teams consistently cannot defend against set plays or counter attacks. He also likes to blame every one but himself.

    This ⬆️

Lampard, as much as he seems a decent guy, doesn’t really know how to set a team up… especially defensively.

I can’t comment on his time at derby or Chelsea, but the word out of Everton is that he was to matey with (not all) but most of the players. The players got away with murder. Dyche has apparently nipped that in the bud, and got rid of most of the trouble makers.

    It’s a no for me.

I can’t stand to listen to this bumbling mess, so will just read other people’s reactions.

Look at the state of him for Christ sake, he’s meant to be a chairman of a championship professional football club and dresses like a lazy Sunday!

Aways looks like he’s gonna burst into tears. Way out of his depth.

I find Neville a decent pundit and co-commentator. He makes a great deal of sense. Several other, like Hinchcliffe are nowhere near in their punditry.

I meant, useless at managing a team

Not sure where Lampard goes from here to be honest. The bloke needs an extended break out of the game IMO and hope he can re ignite his managerial career, possibly abroad if and when he decides to come back.

Punditry. He talks a good game, but is useless when it comes to doing it. Same as Gary Neville

Poor old Bill Kenwright after all he's done for Everton over the years.

    People have very short memories.

What’s he done? The bloke hasn’t put a penny into the club. He got lucky with Moyes, who pretty much ran the club for him. Wouldn’t sell up until he found a buyer who would keep him in on the board (includes the Man City owners).
