Yes.... That'll work.
I'm not defending the club but can you read? They thought, wrongly, it couldn't be changed beyond the date earlier in the season. No one "forgot".
Apologies, I mis-interpreted what has happened. Even worse, though, it seems our Adminsitrators do not know the rules and didn't think to check them!!
Doesn't affect me by the way as I'll be there but I can understand the frustrations of supporters when changes are made at this late stage.

The worst part of it for me is that the club "forgot" this was an issue until the Sheffield United re-arrangement came to light. I know professionals "take it one game at a time" but ffs what do the Administrator's at the club do apart from sitting on their ar$eh0le$ drinking filter coffee? This very issue was brought up in a topic on here weeks ago. And if you change the Management surely you re-visit these types of issues?

You have to be on a wind up ?
Cookie, any ideas?
That's what I thought - old Bert has got to be on the wind up.

The latest rumours from the bunker say it will be ready for 2016/17 and the three sides will be a permanent fixture until cash flow permits completion. Decrepit b*ggers among you will remember the same applied to the North Stand at Eastville which was still only partially complete on the day it was demolished. The Venturers have still to put their sealed knot of approval on the revised plan.
Is that true?

They'll be house on AV by 2016, that was all about not having a stadium and nothing to do with protecting green belt
But if the Village Green thing gets overturned, we go back in for planning at some stage, and it goes through again they will be stuffed. If that's what Lansdown wants to do obviously. I'd build a sewage plant there myself or perhaps open it back up as a landfill site.
-
and if those 3 supermarkets are behind it you can bet it will go on for a long time yet, all have more money then Rovers
If Rovers getting their stadium sees Tesco out of pocket and with egg on their faces then I'm all for it!! Regardless of the rivalry there is room for two sporting arenas in the area (one in Bristol and one in South Glos obviously). And I'm positive that something will get built at Ashton Vale eventually - whether it's a ground for us, who knows?

delaying the enevitable... as nimbys do...
make no mistake Sainsburys and the UWE are happening
The appeal is to the same judge... do u think he will say oh yeah i got it wrong...
he will chuck it out then its 14 days to appeal to the court of appeal and then they will throw it out even if it goes that far!
building work wasnt due to start till 1st week of june at best... prep work /ground clearence has already started.
Im more worried about winning a game or 2 to be honest!
The greens have pulled out ... leaving 4 local people and some cash from co op or tesco
You will need to if you want to make the play offs.

Sadly I think Pompey and Torquay have their names on that particular ticket.
Why can't it be 4 down!!!
Portsmouth v Rovers could be a massive game.
-
1 point off the drop and a pretty tough fixture list. Play offs my arse
How many points off 7th are they?!!!
-
Someone PLEASE mention the play-offs: it's so obvious.
Leave that to South Glos Rovers. They can still do it you know.
-
According to radio stoke they cant believe what they're seeing in a first half that they've dominated.
Take back all i've said about what's his name....not really.
Shame i'm not there to see it
Must be some domination to have a whole three shots in 45 minutes!!
-
I agree we are still a pretty bang average side but I think most people would have taken a scenario where we need around 9 points from our last eight games about ten matches ago.
-
How long left ?
About 75 minutes!!

Great Post fella.
I'd also add that during our barren spell under Sod, I hardly heard (if at all) any criticism toward the 'attitude' of the players. There were many comments as to their ability but never was their attitude or professionalism brought into question.
What we've seen since mid-January are more and more people questioning the players' professionalism, attitude, desire etc.
So yes, whilst results weren't great up until mid-October, the performances were generally ok and we were always 'in' games. Now, we are getting a host of poor performances and are being resoundingly beaten in games, and the players no longer seeming to be motivated.
Sod was supposedly NOT a big motivator according to a lot of people, whilst SC is paraded as this huge motivator.
Seems the players recently aren't as motivated and 'up' for it as they were earlier in the season. That doesn't bode well.
Sorry but I ain't having that. Any player worth his salt doesn't need an older bloke stood in front of them to "motivate" them. That comes from within and shows you exactly what sort of "characters" we have in that dressing room at the moment.

Coco the Red Nose clown has replaced Chico the Ringmaster at the BCFC circus.
When SOD took over, I fully bought into the clubs new philosophy of building a young sustainable team, trying to play the right way. After all, that is what has been successful for us in the past.
As soon as SOD left (and even I agree he had to because it wasn't working), we had to get the right person in to continue the clubs philosophy, even if it meant we went down again. We would still have a young side, on sustainable wages, trying to play the right way. Yes, they would make mistakes but I can take that.
We have now employed a pretend cockney wide boy clown, who thinks he is a tactical genius & our saviour but in reality he hasn't got a bloody clue on how to sort us out. He has brought in players on extremely high wages that just haven't improved the team and if left to his own devices, will set us back years....just like Pulis did.
Let's hope that JL was right and we have a cheap get out clause and employ a manager who will continue the clubs philosophy.
If you want to use a circus analogy I would suggest that the clowns at Bristol City are the ones who lace up their boots every week. But at least with a circus clown you get a performance worthy of the name every time. Our clowns decide for themselves when they can be "bothered" to put it in. Nothing to lose away game at third in the league? Yes, I'll give that one a go. Tough relegation six pointer away to in form side? No thanks, too much like hard work to give the 900 travelling fans a performance.
The likes of Moore, El Terribly Bad, Flint, Osbourne, Pack, Gillette and Barnett must be laughing their socks off at how they escape the flak whilst Cotterill, Baldock (the one player above all others who puts it in every week whatever you think of his wages and finishing) and JET cop for the lot from you people on here.
-
And you know this how exactly??!! Pure speculation once again like your absurd comment that SOD was responsible for 2,500 season ticket holders not turning up! Face it, a manager attending a Q & A at a supporters pub and appearing on a fans' podcast is unprecedented and clearly an attempt to have dialogue with all aspects of the fanbase in a proactive manner.
Er...I seem to remember SOD being scathing of our performances on a couple of occasions, Wycombe springs to mind. So what? SC's charm offensive doesn't seem to be working, does it?
I think the SOD v SC argument is getting a bit tiring now. They have both made mistakes bringing in poor players (El Terribly Bad being the worst example admittedly) but the fact is that we have had a squad jam packed with poor players all season. The Board started this all with the cost cutting to achieve FFFP and unfortunately BOTH of our Managers have not used the limited resources available wisely at all. Add in a bunch of players that turn up when they feel like it and you have the perfect recipe for disaster.
Marlon Harewood - waste of a wage.
Nicky Shorey - waste of a wage.
Lewis Dunk - waste of a wage.
McLaughlin - waste of a wage.
Wade Elliott - waste of a wage.
Simon Gillette - hardly "value for money" is he?
Simon Moore - hardly "value for money" so far.
Tyrone Barnett - waste of a wage.
How much cash have that lot cost us this season? Four signed by SOD, three by SC and one by both.
And the list goes on if you look hard enough.
The problem as I see it is that SOD messed up in the vital pre-season period bringing in players that couldn't cut the mustard and Cotterill has simply repeated the same mistakes in the January window. If we go down they are BOTH responsible.
But what we cannot do is let the players get away scot free whilst we attack the previous and current Managers because it is those wasters who turn up now and again but go into hiding most weeks that have been most responsible for landing us where we are. And MOST of them do not deserve to wear the red shirt.
I am hanging my old hat on the fact that Pearson and then hopefully Kelly can add that bit of impetus required to keep us in League 1. Then, either way, it's mass clearout time and start again. If it means offering settlements to some of the gutless toe rags that we still have on contracts then so be it.

Bit of an over reaction maybe? We were always very likely to lose this game.
It's how you lose though. Mistake after mistake by the same players starts to wear thin after a while.
-
Midfield should have been cotterills priority in the transfer window
Elliott was finished 2 seasons ago, reid and bryan have generally looked out of their depth and pack has been largely underwhelming.
Reid isn't out of his depth at all. He's the only footballer we have in that department. And reading between the lines Kenny Jackett will be making a bid for him when Wolves get promoted at the end of the season.
-
The most frustrating part is, our position does not reflect the squad we have, so what is going on?
It does. We are defensively shocking and weak in midfield. All the ingredients needed to finish in the bottom four.
-
Sobering thought that come August we will be closer to WESTON SUPER MARE in the football pyramid than Swansea City.
-
0-0 I reckon.
-
Exactly. Some of these jokers on here tonight won't be missed next season.
No, it's not like the club is £41m in debt and needs the money. And it's not like the amount of money you can spend on wages next season is based on turnover.
Otherwise we'd really be in trouble.
-
Why not ? We have nothing to lose so why not give them some first team experience
Exactly. Don't pay lip service, stick them on the bench and then bring Howard and Foster on!! Get them out there and give something for the supporters to get behind.
-
Interesting to see Ajala and Burns on the bench
I'll be more interested if they actually get out onto the pitch!!

Shouldn't it be the official Wycombe v Bristol Rovers thread because that's where most of us will be today (according to a Gasheads mate who is a City fan)!!
