  1. It was a penalty under the rules I guess but very harsh - defender has gone in to try and block a cross - is there any  "conscious" decision by the defender to block the ball where  his arm is - I would argue not - maybe there should be a review of what constitutes a penalty - sometimes I think penalties are far too much a "reward" for the offence.....plus I want Brum and Stoke to go down.....

  2. Thank you to everyone (who has said it was offside). I watched the pundits' "discussion" and was worrying that I was losing my sanity - one of the most clear offsides you'd see!

  3. I'm no football tactician - there are folks on here far better placed to talk of such things than me but nairy a pass sideways across the back today in comparison to how it's been alot in recent (especially home games) times - seemed to be more positive movement to receive balls and push forwards - thought Pring and Roberts worked well and dare I say I really enjoyed today's game - just need to "back it up" in the next few games and who knows - I'm not convinced by Manning but fair play today.

    All I can find for the second leg is;

    Bristol City (0) 1 - 1 (0) Ipswich Town

FA Youth Cup Final 2nd Leg 1972-73 (Youth (U18/U19) game)

    Monday, April 16, 1973.  ATT: 6,032

Well, I'm not surprised we lost the first leg - Ipswich had 2 extra players on the pitch!!! 5-2-4-1, cheats!!

Not Ashton Gate I know, but does anyone from here ever go to the Arctangent festival? Is it worth it?

I LOOOVVEEE ArcTanGent!!! Will be heading there for the 7th time this year - probably got slightly more metal than when it first started but generally a great mix of math rock, post rock, slightly experimental/avant garde type stuff with the occasional wild card thrown in - would definitely recommend it if alternative is your thing!

  6. Been around for a while now but I hate the "new" plugs - not the electrical ones but ones for your sink/bath - used to be a simple "bung" on a chain did the trick but over the last 20 or so years, it seems plugs now have to be massively over-engineered - move a lever, that links to another lever which will then link into a gear or something that will "screw" the plug down.....but not enough that actually blocks the water completely! Oh no, you wanna shave, you got 2 minutes...rubbish!!!

  7. Wow - 17pts from 10 games and a very respectable 3rd in their group - yes, 2 wins against Liechtenstein helps but anyone know any reason for such a "good" campaign (I seem to remember them getting the odd draw or even win over the years but nothing like this time round)

  8. Just out of interest, are the physical cards we got a couple of seasons ago (with the nice box and keyring) no longer fit for purpose then I.e. is a new "scanning" system in place? or could the ticket still be uploaded to the existing card

  9. Like the play offs but always felt that 3rd (or 4th in League 2) should automatically get to the final and the other positions below then play off to face them by e.g. Championship- 5th playing 6th and the winner playing 4th.

I have started listening to a great band and thought I had discovered something new, as is the way with these things at my age, it runs out they have been around about 10-15 years. :) They are new to me though, so Lanterns on the Lake is my recommendation. This is a lovely track.

Nothing on the card about huboo/Huboo .
I don't see why they don't offer a choice or both. If the seat can only be claimed once, they could send one for the wallet and still activate the old card, unless I'm missing something.

We will get used to it, I have use Apple pay but don't like it, but that's me.

Time will tell if it causes delays or not.

Although not worried about digital ticketing as long as it does not increase queues to get in, its been said about the cost saving of not sending out new tickets, they use to just load your new ticket on to your old card, so wonder why they went away from that as electronic and no cost to dio.

Agree with these - can't see why they can't load tickets to the current card - weren't they all brand spangly new last season?

I have a smart phone but don't use Apple pay or Google wallet - hopefully I can save the barcode/QR code in my own location on my phone rather than having to download an app I don't want.

    From the web:-

If you don't have the 18th Edition, or don't know what the regulations include, your installations may not meet the current standard, which could mean that your installations are unsafe or inefficient.

    Perfect for the Mem then!!!

  13. The missus asked me what this meant after she heard it mentioned in one of the World Cup games yesterday - I explained that it was kind of a "base" challenge just taking a player out really but she then asked where the term came from and I have no idea!! Can anyone enlighten me as to its origins??
