  1. Tommy Conway is nowhere near ready for a step up (and not sure he ever will be) and would be better off staying here at the moment. Not sure we have seen enough of Twine to really judge him, but clearly not worth a seven figure transfer fee, at least yet. Medube is a strange one. Nobody really knows what has been going on with him, do they, though we have speculated
  2. I would hope LM picks the best team he can to try to win the game. No problem with bringing these 3 on later in the game if we are 2 or 3 up. I would hope we can keep Joe Williams and whilst I like both Andy King and Matty James, they are both too old now to justify paying their wages for another season. We need to be looking forward, except that these two have had their day and thank them for their service. I would imagine getting these two off the payrole might be sufficient to fund a decent striker.
  3. Better rest Joe Williams for this one then and Pringy has a habit of collecting cards too. Awarding a penalty every other game gives us a fighting chance of getting one too. Our last ref was really good - gave us a last min (questionable) penalty and even did the washing up before she went home.
  4. Not like John McEnroe having a part in Ryan's daughter?
  5. Didn't know that. I knew some of his family members who were all local
  6. The big clubs can all seem to get away with it. How can it be that with all their breaches that Man City are not in League 2 by now?
  7. We signed a few from Scotland - Gillies, Sweeney, Fitzpatrick spring to mind Merrick, Ritchie, Gow, Tainton, Rodgers, Whitehead all came through our youth setup. Not sure about Gary Colliers history offhand. Drysdale was actually a local lad who we signed from Hartlepool and Cheesley was signed for £30k from Norwich, though also a local lad. I remember signing Gould from Wolves, Hunt from Coventry, Cormack from Liverpool and Hunter from Leeds once we were in Div 1. We also signed Jon Shaw from Leeds. Can't believe my memory is still good enough to remember all this. Anyone else remember much about other players of that time.
  8. If I remember correctly, Trevor Jacobs ran it for a few years and it was Ray Cashley's local. Am I correct?
  9. A great night indeed and a great result, though it wasn't that great a game as far as I can remember. The only time I have ever set foot on the hallowed turf at AG and filled with excitement at the thought of what was coming next season. 3 generations of us watched the game from the grandstand (we normally stood in the uncovered end in those days).
  10. Nowrich have a lot to play for and we don't. However our players should be playing for their shirt and a place in Mannings starting line up for next season. I can't think of any who are getting shipped out though there are one or two out of contract in the summer. Not sure how attacking or defensive we will set up, though having Dickie back should be a plus (I think Vyner may still be sidelined). A flight to Barcelona to watch the game on RobinsTV is going to be a lot quicker than travelling to the actual game and probably a bit cheaper too.
  11. 2023/24 Attendances courtesy of transfermarket.com: City 22,784 Sags 8,152 Still, they are the bigger club with the best support (Gas logic).
  12. I read somewhere that the average number of bums on seats is 20% lower than the number of tickets sold. 6,526 minus 20% = 5,220. Surely they have more bums than that.
  13. What can he say? I've lost interest in BCFC and left it to Crayon Boy to run (and he's more interested in being a fake playboy). I'm more interested in the rugby now. Anyone who disagrees with us shall be sacked irrespective of what the fans think. We are not interested in fans, only interested in paying customers. There is no transfer budget. I've put as much money into the club as I am going to and won't put in a penny more. I would like to get rid of the football club but can't find anybody to pay my extortionate asking price. Unlikely he will tell us any of this, but which of the above are untrue?
  14. His arms were out and it was a penalty in my biased view, but in reality, I've seen as many similar examples waived away as often as given. TBH we have had much clearer penaly shouts including several stone wall pens turned down in the last couple of years. I did like the fact that Rebecca wouldn't stand for professional fouls and waived a yellow for all of them right from the start. Much better ref than most of the blokes I've seen officiating down here lately.
