I just wondered at what point you changed your mind about Manning and decided he isn't the man for us?

By the way,  it's not a dig or anything.  I'm just genuinely interested to find out at what point he lost you.

Do you think you’ll already know that come season end?  Or do you really need really need 20 (8+12) and a window to assess?

    Fine if you do.

I’ve seen enough.  I don’t think he can change.

  3. I really can't understand why they have let him go. IMO he was one of the best players at the club, and his attitude, experience and work ethic could surely have only been beneficial in assisting the younger lads in the squad.

A really questionable decision as far as I'm concerned.

I know he didn't seem to be rated by many on here but, especially when the squad is small, I cannot see how anyone could argue that his departure does anything other than weaken the side and I can't see any benefit for the club in letting him go.

I'd really like to know Manning's thinking behind this one???

What’s telling is that 9 of LM’s 15 points came from 3 consecutive games. Of those 3, only the Watford match was a good performance. It was a daylight robbery win against Sunderland and a fortunate win against Hull. In a way it doesn’t matter how you pick up points but long term, if you want promotion, it’s the style of play and the team performance that’s important. Unfortunately for City too many of the last 11 matches have been dire. A common theme after a some matches is “when did you see as bad a match as that”. Then the next match is worse and so on

    Spot on!

As you say, Watford aside, even the victorious performances have been poor.  Which I said at the time and got hammered for.

Some of the comments I saw after Sunderland, Hull etc. were textbook 'Emporer's New Clothes' stuff!

Reminder- there are some people on this forum that watch City pass it round the back at walking pace and think that it’s ’playing like Pep’.

But it must be great! You only need to look at the possession stats to see just how much we're dominating games!

Today was dire, absolutely dire and a prime example of how this modern trend of Play Station football will be the death of the game we love.

It is well known that The Etihad is a library and that is because nothing exciting happens there anymore

Clubs that try and emulate this beware. Today, 21,000 people were bored rigid watching players endlessly recycling the ball in an attempt to emulate this turgid shite

It was probably the worst atmosphere I think I have ever experienced in 50 years of watching football at The Gate, there was literally nothing to get excited about

At least the "dinosaur" football that I used to watch was exciting. Wingers taking on their full backs, through balls, crosses, shots, stuff that used to get you out of your seat, ALL GONE thanks to this modern brand of football which is dull as dishwater

We've been sold the Emperor's new clothes, there is no substance to it, PlayStation is NOT REAL. When are people going to open their eyes to this game killer....

    Couldn't agree more!!

Just turgid, repetitive sideways or backwards passes along the defensive line until we make a mistake and give it away.

Still, we must've played well and dominated - cos the stats say we had loads more possession than them!!!!!!!!

The important part for me isn’t 3 from 3, it’s the fact that we went from a win against Sunderland where we were second best for most of the game to a win against Hull where they were still the better side overall to a win at a strong side where we controlled the game from start to finish. The upturn in performance is what we need and what he has delivered over the three games.

Points scoring on here is daft. Enjoying the improvement and the results going hand in hand isn’t.

Couldn't agree more.  Am glad to see that there are people who are able to appreciate a result whilst accepting that we didn't necessarily play well.

As you say, the fact that performances have begun to improve game on game is really encouraging.  Let's hope it continues!!

While there is some truth in your comment, the enjoyment factor of the football is now is much better imo.

The last 3 matches have produced fantastic results - but let's not get carried away just yet!

Bear in mind we were pretty much battered by Sunderland and were fortunate to hold on and sneak the victory.

Against Hull we were (IMO) poor for an hour until the triple substitution changed things - and Hull would've felt very hard done by to come away from that match with nothing.

The fact we were, at times, battered for long periods in both games - but managed to hold on - is what made the excitement/enjoyment factor high.

I wasn't there today, but it did sound like we were excellent - so it was enjoyable because of an excellent,  dominant performance - so perhaps we are on the up.

Let's just hope the positive results continue - and enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts!!!

Read the Hull forums they at least gave us some credit for second half performance...but you a City fan? cant get a lazy one on for a fantastic 3 points, your poor wife.

Don't get me wrong,  It was a fantastic result against a good team and I've really got no idea why you think any fan wouldn't appreciate the win.

Seems it's impossible in your little world to be a 'proper fan' if you are extremely happy with 3 points whilst also accepting that we were pretty poor until the subs changed the game.

Were you even at the game?
