Coventry City away match thread
The Fat Controller replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
The latter please. A general forum overreaction/meltdown will be far more entertaining than the game. -
Yeah, he was. Poorly phrased, I suppose. He often moved a long way to even stand a chance of winning the ball and at times won it at a decent stretch.
-
Won everything in the air. Way more than he was entitled to.

It's almost like people can't wait to jump on anything he does wrong Personally I'm not going to be too critical of passes that don't come off when he's trying to get us going forward.

Keeper diving after the ball hit the back of the net is a superb bit of comedy -

Nope, we are consistently inconsistent. Sorry! Trouble comes when you're having to keep a clean sheet every game to stand a chance of winning -
I'd have a go but it's my turn to be Watford manager next.

You can't rely on him though, can you? -
Not just the Hull 'keepers who have been at the sherry then

All of our forwards would perform better in a genuine two, rather than either being isolated or pushed wide in a three.

We don't have to do it every time. It shouldn't be keep possession at all costs. We need to be better at understanding when to hold and when to go long. I'm not suggesting we go long every time, but we are playing ourselves into pressure way way too much. -

Wish we'd stop fannying around with the ball at the back. We don't seem to learn our lessons -

Oh no what have you done -
Excellent run of form at what should be the peak of his career, age wise. Hindsight is a wonderful thing of course but you can't keep hold of every player in the hope that one day they might make the grade.

New head coach’s post match interview

That's where I'd play him too, especially with Wells out, and I don't really feel like it's an experiment at all. It's where he wants to play. It's a position in which he has been successful for us. It helps Conway too who is much much more effective in a narrow 2 than in a wide 3.
