Andi has started all 44 games and as long as he avoids injury next week he should complete the season. As a matter of interest anyone know who was the last City player to do this. I know some of the team of the 70s did it, Brian Drysdale etc but there must a more recent player who’s started every league game.

I think it’s a question of perception. He’s not what I would call a “sexy” footballer. Slightly hunched shoulders (similar to my childhood hero John Galley), a slightly awkward gate, he’s very much an old fashioned centre half. You can see why our Nige rates him highly, but I don’t think he fits the profile the prem clubs are looking for. I used the comparison with Louis Carey, because like Louis I think he’s a decent footballer. I hope I’m right, in the sense he stays with us longer than did Adam Webster, but good luck to the young man if he can get a move to the prem.

The other advantage with the Robs is they’re never going to attract attention from premiership clubs or clubs with PP and both could have lengthy careers with us re Louis Carey.

If they’re any good they’ll be desperate to leave that dump regardless of which division they’re in.

The aim mid term must be to be a competitive championship team with a wages budget which is less than 80% of turnover. To achieve that we will need to move on the top earners and replace them with home players and OOC signings who won’t demand the type of wages that we currently pay Kalas, Bentley Dasilva etc. That ambition is no small feat. Hopefully, next season will be another season similar to this one, where we reduce the wage bill but achieve safety without out any major worries.

The irony is Graham his first touch from the Semenyo pass was poor and forced him a couple of yards wider, which created the angle for the cross to the back post. I think if he’d taken the ball in his stride he would have hit it low across the six yard line. But that’s football for you.
