God, this a thousand times. Why is he playing (at least) two players out of their preferred positions? It’s not big and it’s not clever. I assumed it was because he wants our wingers to cut inside for the shot/ pass, but after the match he said in the interview he wants to see players getting on the end of crosses into the box, which we seem to shy away from doing. Either he’s clueless or I am.

Absolutely, he's far too keen to have players on the wing cutting in, but this is losing us the ball so many times and not creating much at all.  Today was crying out for players to run down the wings and cross it, especially once conway was on.  As it stands there's nothing for any of the forwards to attack in the penalty area.

  2. Does this mean we'll get some interviews where new signings aren't forced to tell us that they think 'the pathway' and 'The high performance centre' are really good?

Simply a game I thought we needed to avoid defeat today.  To win, fantastic.  There is of course many things to critique tonight, but three points is a huge boost regardless of it feeling like The Alamo from 30-35mins onwards.

Three wins out of our last four at home and beating a top half side to boot.

I’ve said we could’ve had one or two more points so far under LM, but today we made them back up.

    Big game Friday now.  COYR

I thought Sunderland were better than us for the first 20 mins too, we then had a very good spell following the goal.

  4. First half was quite interesting in a sense as we were playing a different short safe plassing style of football to what we've seen before.  It'll take a bit of getting used to and needs a lot more movement off the ball up the pitch to really be effective.  Apparently Oxford played a similar system with the aim of launching sudden/surprise attacks when gaps appear.  It was quite nice to see the ball on the floor a lot more than usual and less balls being hoofed aimlessly down the channels.

  5. As funny as this is, I can't help think we probably dodged a bullet by not having to deal with Sainsbury, or similar, with our ground.

If Ashton Vale had gone ahead they would've probably tried to pull the same stunt as supermarkets stopped building big stores around that time - though I'm sure our contract would've been watertight!
