I didn't want NP to go..........but he has.   So Are u then suggesting that our new manager retains exactly the same players that we have now?..........and somehow turns them into a top six side?  Personally i believe we are four players short of a reasonable team, if u don't regard that as an overhaul, then OK?

Isn’t  their excuse for sacking NP because we were underperforming and we had a squad more than capable of challenging the top six?

Hi Steve if you are reading this, Luton didn’t “get lucky”, that’s a crazy statement and a sign of someone who doesn’t get it. They built steadily with manager(s) and scouts that stuck to a plan, and then crucially when they were in sight of the promised land held on to their talent to get them over the line.

could it be that rather then luck, you give the current staff a pat on the back and give them as much as you can to get us where we want to be.

    luck, and hope, aren’t strategies

I personally believe that Nathan Jones leaving and Rob Edwards’s taking over gave them a slightly different dimension which helped them gain promotion. Just my opinion of course

But we languish in the bottom half

I read some interesting stats that we were the third highest team for losing points when in winning position.23 I think it was. I believe we improved that in the second half of the season. If we can continue with that next season maybe will be a whole lot better ?

Are you taking the piss? Those decisions were shambolic. Awful decisions to keep the 'elite' elite.

Brighton have been brilliant all season, and they were robbed of a point today.

    Exactly this.

I think Brighton were robbed of 3 points.

A bit of a shameless plug…but hopefully ok given the cause!

A group of 4 of us, all City fans, some I think who post on here, are doing a charity walk in April from Taunton Cricket Ground, to Ashton Gate. The route via WSM is roughly 53 miles and the plan is to leave Taunton mid afternoon on April 9th, arriving at Ashton Gate in time for City vs Middlesbrough on 10th April at 3.

We’re doing this in aid of the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

Sadly 2 years ago today, my Dad lost his life to Motor Neurone Disease. He loved both cricket and football, so a fitting route we think. He was a ST holder since first taking me back in 00/01! We sat in Block F of the Atyeo untill the redevelopment and then S21 in the new South Stand. His last game was the pre Fulham Covid game, so a good metaphor for his City life that we conceded late at home in his last game…?? One of the other walkers lost his Mum to MND in 2014, so it’s sadly effected all 4 of us.

As we all know, MND is abysmal. It’s been in the news a lot recently especially with high profile sports people sadly being diagnosed, but there is still no known cure. There are some awful diseases in this world, but the hopelessness of this when diagnosed is appalling. On average people die within 2 years of being diagnosed.

So, on a shit day, and and in memory of my Dad Simon, and my mates Mum, Diane, we’re doing this.

I know times are shit (good timing Dad ?) but any money given brings treatment and eventually a cure every so slightly closer. If you can’t offer a donation, then any sharing or spreading the word would be equally appreciated. I hate pushing and self publicising, but I’ll make an exception for this **** of a disease.

Oh, and Ive said I’ll donate personally based on City goals between now and then. £10 a goal between today and Boro at home. So no 5-5 draws tomorrow please!

Cheers all. Any support hugely appreciated by us all.

    Things were looking so ominous.

First, the bad weather grounded flights to the North East.

Then. Atkinson went off injured early in the game.

    Next Sunderland go one up.

    But . . .

cue the long overdue penalty in late added-on time.

Coolly dispatched by Wells and . . .

wild celebrations at the away end in the Stadium of Light and in thousands of homes, inhabited by City supporters, worldwide.

    The unbeaten run continues.

    What a wonderful feeling.

    And the gas lose ?

It was just before HT and the issue was raised at HT. Villa absolutely should have let Sheff U walk the ball into the net. Easy to say when it's not your team I guess, but they were done by a technology failure. No way Oliver could have overruled that in real time. That decision gave me more reason to dislike Villa

While I totally agree with what your saying but surely VAR should have stepped in?

  8. I helped a mate move that day from Newton Abbott to Swindon. (I had arranged it months in advance). Managed to get to The Oxford (  The Merlin) at five to three. It was my local. It was absolutely packed.I walked in with my city shirt on and you could hear a pin drop. I was well known for being a city fan by the locals but I didn’t know hardly anyone in there. When Hull scored the place went ballistic.

All I got from Swindon fans for year after was we’ve never lost at Wembley. Well I bided my time and low and behold they haven’t won at the new Wembley culminating in my favourite when they got absolutely dicked by Preston the year they won the title in November ???

  9. My mate who is a Hibs season ticket holder rang me on Sunday saying it was a done deal. He said if he doesn’t hit the ground running they will destroy him over his Hearts connection. Fair to say he’s not impressed.

Our final game of the season takes us to West Yorkshire. In our last four games we have pounded the Potters, blunted the Blades, ravaged the Rams and tamed the Tigers, let’s hope we can round things off by terrorising the Terriers! We have not beaten any of the current top six this season so here’s our opportunity to change that.

They appointed Leeds United assistant Carlos Corberan as their new head coach on 23 July 2020. He had spent the previous three years with the Whites and coached the club's under-23s as well as being on Marcelo Bielsa's staff. He replaced Danny Cowley after the ex-Lincoln manager was sacked.

It's fair to say that expectations were not particularly high in West Yorkshire heading into the new season. The Terriers made a good start to life under Carlos Corberan last season but fell off badly and a 5-1 thumping by Fulham in their first home game of this season left many expecting the Spaniard to be replaced. However, they have been one of this season’s surprise teams. They secured a play-off place a couple of weeks ago when they beat Barnsley 2-1 a result which also relegated Barnsley.

Our head to head record - we have won 24, lost 27 and drawn 11. Here’s three minutes of misery for those who want some bad memories resurrected:

Ten of the last twelve meetings between us and them have featured three or more goals. They are in great form having won five and drawn one of their last six games!

At our place they won 3-2.

Prior to this game they were just three points better off than us.

The John Smith’s Stadium was one of the first modern-era stadiums to be built in England, and became Huddersfield Town’s home in 1994, when they moved from their previous stadium, Leeds Road. It is also home to Rugby League team, Huddersfield Giants.

The stadium is really unique looking with each stand semi-circular in shape rather than the traditional rectangular structure. The corners are not enclosed, but this hasn’t stopped the stadium winning numerous design awards. The stadium has also played host to international rugby fixtures and a number of concerts. Away fans visiting the John Smith’s Stadium are located behind the goal on one side of the Chadwick Lawrence (South) Stand.

Former Huddersfield Town owner Dean Hoyle is in discussions to buy back the club. Phil Hodgkinson, who Hoyle sold the club to in 2019, has stepped down as a director of the club to focus on his other business interests.

David Webb is the referee today. He was handed his first game as referee for the Bury v Brentford game in 2007, having previously worked for a charity that supports adults with learning difficulties and mental health problems.

    Huddersfield banter

    • Former Prime Minister Lord Harold Wilson was born and raised in Huddersfield and there’s a statue of him outside the train station.
    • The Sex Pistols performed their last ever UK gig in Huddersfield. The infamous punk band performed at Ivanhoe’s nightclub on Christmas Day 1977, before embarking on an ill-fated US tour which saw the group’s acrimonious collapse.
    • Rugby League was invented in Huddersfield in 1895 following a dispute over payments to players. The sport is still prominent in the town thanks to Huddersfield Giants who play their trade in the Super League.
    • The annual Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival is the largest contemporary music festival in the world!
    • Huddersfield has the third highest number of listed buildings of any town in the UK, 3,000 in total.
    • Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for his roles in Star Trek and X-Men, grew up just around the corner in the little town of Mirfield. He remains loyal to his local roots and was the Vice Chancellor of Huddersfield University.
    • Huddersfield Town FC were the first English team to win three league titles in a row, winning the third of their titles in 1926.
