I believe the Manning rumour is a smokescreen. He and his family are settled and he's building a good side at Oxford

Funny you say that, this actually popped up on my Twitter not long ago. Anyone know if this bloke is on here at all? Imagine it's all BS but thought it's worth posting.

Experience comes from playing and managing, he's not got either of any note

Declan Rice... So you said he helped develope him??

I'd have thought the West Ham coaches may disagree, we know how much an U23s manager gets involved

I get that, but out of interest would you have been up for us appointing Will Still? His playing career is inferior to Manning's and arguably so is his managerial career before he joined Reims.

Correct, I said he helped to develop him. I know as much as you when it comes to that being the truth, however I'm not sure multiple articles would've been written about something that is nonsense... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12521497/WONDERS-PYRAMID-Liam-Manning-coach-credited-nurturing-Declan-Rice-West-Ham-flying-Oxford-PLUS-three-games-watch-weekend.html

  3. Didn't want Nige to leave, but actually pretty happy with this appt.

Only 38, fresh ideas, seems to have a v good track record with developing youth. I've been quite a big critic of Jon, but at least he's stuck to his initial statement of getting in a progressive coach that likes to play front footed football, even if it may not be the most 'impressive' appointment out there, which he seemingly also did say.

Understandably some are concerned about him getting sacked by MK Dons, but let's not also forget that he helped save Oxford from relegation, now has them 2nd in the league and also got MK Dons into the play-offs. Not a bad track record so far, right? Oh and also a 48% win rate in Belgium.

Get behind the new man, folks!

    That reads weirdly to me...

"There's been contact between City and Oxford re: Liam Manning as of first thing this morning. He is or at least has been, as we reported last week, among those who have been considered."

would feel to read more naturally if it said...

"There's been no contact between City and Oxford re: Liam Manning as of first thing this morning. He is or at least has been, as we reported last week, among those who have been considered."

Yeah, agreed, was just relaying what I saw. Maybe a typo that needs to be questioned

IF .. they get this right and IF we made playoffs.. would your opinion change on Lansdowns and respect their choice?

Or is it more the way it happened?

I don't agree with how this has all happened but if we get an unbelievable coach and fly up the league.. would you think fair play or still not like it?

Just playing hypothetical, whilst we wait 😅

Opinion would definitely change. Taking a risk and it paying off has to be respected - however it's exactly that, a risk, which means if it doesn't work then they're going to be up for a lot of scrutiny!
