Which is the total opposite of what we were told he was here to do. I think that’s everyone’s issue.

Either, he was the wrong man for the (top 6) squad, and shouldn’t have been hired in the first place as he wasn’t the right fit. So they hired the wrong bloke for the ‘new identity we have from first team down to u11s’.

Or, they totally change the squad and ‘new identity we have from first team down to 11s’ for him because it doesn’t suit him, but they have more faith in the manager than the squad, so will let him have oversight on a total overhaul on it over the next probably 2 years.

Whatever scenario they pick, they’ve got it wrong.

Does anyone think we can compete with the top 6,8 or 10 with wage structure and FFP?

2 years ago we had to get through to the end of the season to start the clear out. Many posters failed to see the bigger picture.

Had he gone after the West Brom game on Boxing Day last year there would have been a bit of disgruntlement but the general feeling would have been that it was a fair decision.

The playing squad has changed dramatically in 2 years so which players are you wanting to blame ?

The clear out was based on players on higher wages so aren’t they supposed to be better players on wage structure? And that’s where we are now - relying on academy and lower wage players to get us higher up the table…doesn’t work in my eyes.
Look at wage structure and teams at the top of the league.

  3. What I was reading on OTIB Saturday, everyone was calling for subs that Manning made...Manning now admitted he may have got that wrong also. Everyone looking at a strong bench to make changes but just when I thought we were getting a little momentum. But hindsight is a great virtue. We do play better against teams that have more possession, fact. I think we just need to up the tempo in my eyes to break down teams that sit back, get wide, but we need to find the answers.

I'd blame the linesman who missed the ball crossing the line just before!

I blame the board and Tinnion for that one!

    Any footage of that?

  5. I like Mannings playing style better than NPs. Yes, it is a results business but I do think we will get better over the next couple of months.

It is nice to have a cup run but this will affect the players. Mentally, physically. Let's see when we get knocked out in the 1/4 finals. 🤣

  6. Needs to get his consistency up, kicking is poor - but all things that can improve. He could do better with his concentration and be more commanding.

Easy to say "Be careful what you wish for", but you've got to recognise that new ownership could go either way.

Maybe we'd get new owners and "do a Reading".
Maybe we'd get new owners and "do a Brighton".

To me, it feels like we're rather stagnant under the Lansdowns, and we need to roll the dice and accept the risk of new ownership if we want to progress much further.

Don't you think they are trying to get new investors, see press releases around the summer? Don't think many people are queueing up to buy many clubs in this climate. You can see how little clubs are spending across any of the leagues, even we have broke the mould and got a loan in.

  8. Can't honestly believe this poll.

Lansdowns - Investment made all over the Bristol Sport brand. Have a ground we can be proud of. Wipes out our debts when needed. Youth set up amazing. Investing still (Ps investing also means wiping out debts)

Where on earth are you coming from? It really beggars belief.

If you feel this down about the whole thing - take up fishing in a boat on your tod.

Be careful what you wish for. Pathetic, FFS
