  1. Point missed here if this was the wage  structure all along why wasn't this made clear earlier in the summer . We were given the impression that Scott stayed or funds to be made available if he went . How many season tickets would have been sold if people had the full range of the facts . May be me being cynical but strange this didn't become apparent until the season had started . I know that's when Scott was sold but Lansdown didn't just wake up that day and decide that was the policy. Had to have been planned months ago . I said on other posts . Respect Lansdown for the work on the infrastructure. But the team and the fans last again . Rather have a crap ground like Luton and good team than other way around

  2. Not sure what SLs agenda is but I've been feeling this all summer and in the last weeks been proved right. The squad is considerably weaker than the start of last season yes wage bill cut and money made on transfers . But replacements nowhere near the quality of what we lost some not even replaced We lost CM ,JD, TK,,HNM, ASe, ASc .Replaced by HC ,AM, JK,,RD , HR.. Lessons to be learned by clubs who asset strip year on year you run out of hidden gems . Southampton have just found out to their cost . Wimbledon did it  Coventry many others over the years in football now you stand still you go backwards . We are going backwards to try and stand still will not work in the long run . Can't help but feel we the fans have had our pants pulled down this summer with incomings and outgoings . We were told plan a no need to sell Scott , plan b for life after Scott targets identified money to be spent on strengthening . Plan c was announced as a wage limit which we have reached . Funny this wasn't mentioned start of the summer when season tickets went on sale . Only after the season started . I have every respect for what SL has done for this club . But really don't like what is being done and policy the club is following

Bryan has scored 29 goals in his 371 professional appearances a career average of 1 in 12 across League 1, Championship, Prem League and now Ligue 1 (he's at 1 in every 958 minutes). Roughly 4 per season. However in only two seasons (our 14/15 promotion season and in 17/18) has his tally exceeded 3 goals.

16 of those 29 have come when played at LM, which transfermarkt reckon he's done in 117 games. Better, but still only 1 every 590 minutes. So assuming he played every minute of a Championship season at LM that predicts 7 goals. 7 would be nice I grant you, but is that playing condition going to be fulfilled? Mehmeti and Bell would be angry.

He's a good player, he's a great Bristolian, and I would/will welcome him home with open arms, but he's not a goalscorer and although he could chip in with 2 or 3, he's not the 5-10 goal midfielder we might be looking for.

If he does play all the games and gets his 7 predicted goals that puts him in your 5 -10 midfield goals kind of negates your point

I agree tone but they’re living the dream , literally . I can imagine the scenario now . Oh I got to get up early tomorrow , half 8 to go training at 10 for a hour & half . But what’s my motivation apart from the £60k I’m getting at the end of the month

Oh I know, I’ll try to learn how to pass a ball 5 yards to team mate this week

I have posted before with such a small squad no fear of being dropped .With the out of contracts not selected . Only takes one injury to be back in the team

  5. Pearson has had the longest honeymoon period of any manager in football history. Year one was keep us up cut wage bill sort backroom staff job done. But no real improvement on the pitch no organisation identity still a soft touch. His coaching staff now still can't defend set pieces or stop crosses . No real progress or evidence it will get better. New medical staff still long injury list. No DOF or recruitment. Recruitment poor two complete passengers in King and Simpson. Wages vastly reduced so job done . Now year two things change will be 3 transfer windows his players his team his style his coaching methods building an id all his from now on . No free hit no excuses all the football stuff is his to own . Got a decent CEO not Ashton so the basket case has gone . Can't live on what he's done in the past what he does now counts . I was happy when Pearson was appointed not so sure now yes was in crap state when joined can't be used as a stick to beat the Lansdownes with over a year on now . All up to Nigel now transfer window coaching and organising all down to him . Summer to October vital for him cause must be evidence of improvement. Not sure it will happen as really no better a year later . So a big 6 to 7 months ahead . We can but hope I'm just not convinced

  6. Only way to get most of them out of the comfort zone . All on good contracts can't be released no one would buy many of them as money is tight . If dropped no they will be back in if injuries as squad is small . Or happy to do little but take the money . So perhaps fans giving them stick is the only way to get through. Though I doubt most of the give a f..k.

  7. 3 managers have struggled to get anything out of the bulk of this squad . I feel like there is a culture which can't be changed by any manager until most of the current squad is moved on and there in lies the problem . Performance doesn't matter and the players no it. After an appalling season last year virtually every released player got another club . So no pressure on being released. All that we have left no that they are on quite decent contracts so we can't release or pay them off . So can stay here and take the wages . Won't be transferred as who would want them so no danger of ending up going to lower league or losing money . And if dropped squad is so small only takes a couple of injuries to get back in . It's easy street for them all free money for a lot and nothing any manager can do about it

I don't know who LJ thinks his "target audience" is but it certainly wasn't the average BCFC fan and isn't the average Sunderland fan. Therein lies the problem, you have a manager who is trying to give a coaching and/or psychology masterclass every interview when the majority of fans just want to hear the truth about the game in plain language. When you look at the backgrounds of many footballers themselves I could imagine that the language he uses, if replicated with them, would grate with quite a few after a while particularly when the guy delivering it does not have a track record of actually winning anything.

Embarrassing when commentators are saying he measures the grass before games .Don’t no how that helps the team . Does he say it’s a quarter of an inch long so you need to pass the 0.3% harder. Getting hammered by Leeds and they say LJ says a new player needs 30 training sessions before they can play his way that day they could’ve had 300 sessions and wouldn’t beat Leeds just nonsense
