    Thanks RR.

I have tried not to be too critical of this man as I know nothing about him, and he may have his own mental health issues, which caused him to behave the way he did on Saturday.

I'm hoping it was an isolated incident and that he now feels thoroughly ashamed.

    Wishful thinking perhaps.

What an incredibly gracious, patient and lovely thing to say. Not many of us would be so potentially forgiving in the face of such behaviour.

You and me both, although you and Steve would have been ten years or so before me.

I well remember the games of football, though, weekends and evenings during the summer.

If we got too hot, we used to go to the doctor’s surgery at the edge of the common (Dr Beddows, Meadows?) to fill up our bottle of water from the outside tap - they used to have chickens and ducks in their courtyard.

I didn’t realise until after I had posted that the article was actually written a couple of years ago, by our very own @Tristan Cork no less.

Well Done Tristan for an excellent article, and I don’t mind admitting I had tears in my eyes as I was reading it - so much (of the nicer parts) resonated with my own childhood, although it must have been awful for a half cast child growing up in those days knowing why his parents weren’t together.

Thanks Phil. much appreciated. It was a pleasure to meet Steve for that interview - it was at the start of his trip to the UK which included a book launch at Ashton Gate and at Wrexham, where he played much of his career.

About as well composed as anything I’ve seen written, by you, in the Post.

Ah so you ARE a fan then. An avid reader! I knew it!
in my defence tho, all anyone has to do to see that I'm a reporter at the Post, apart from using the internet, is to click on my little badge thing on here, and it comes with all the other times people have had a go at me for being a reporter on the Post. So that might be a bit of a clue?

Who the hell would admit to that?

I was replying to this you freak. Any how, it’s probably in the best interest that people are aware you are a journalist.
    *Twitter as well, hun.

Now now no need to start calling people names is there? I haven't once hidden the fact that I'm a reporter for the Post on this forum. In fact, that reply you quoted was in response to someone joking that I should complain to myself about the bright lights. I think that whole exchange maybe went over your head, perhaps?

Virgin Media broke down yesterday in parts of south Bristol so our Senior Reporter @Tristan Cork wouldn’t have been able to get his info from Facebook

Can anyone remember what the ads were that were too bright? If, like me the answer is no, then it patently doesn't work as an advertising medium.

I was so blinded I just remember the colours. The bright white, orange, red and yellow ones were the worst. I think there was a white one for eBay, which made me never want to use eBay ever again

  7. Hello all
Before I send my email to the club, I was just wondering if anyone else also has trouble watching the game because of the bright illuminated advertising boards around the pitch, or if it is just me?
On Saturday, it felt worse than ever, probably because it was grey and gloomy. When the floodlights aren't as bright as the perimeter ad boards, then it's hard to watch. This is especially a problem when the action is at the Atyeo end (I sit in the South Stand). It's like squinting at silhouettes, or the equivalent of going to the cinema trying to watch a film and having someone shine a torch in your eyes while you try to watch a film.

I see in the Evil Post that one Rollin Menayese aged 20 of Bradley stoke has been convicted of dangerous driving and assault by beating.  He has been given 250 hours of community service and disqualified from driving for 15 months and ordered to pay costs and compensation.  Is this the same guy that plays for the Sags - the age is correct?

did a bit of digging on this one, and wrote this about Mr Menayese

Oh indeed. Full marks for distance achieved though accuracy may be up for debate. I guess it depends on what his point of aim was.

If the new Mayor fancies putting in a bid for Bristol to host the Olympics then this video certainly shows the wide range of new sports Bristolians could bring to the party.

they should be made to fight while going down that slightly pathetic water slide they had up park street a couple of years ago.

So there was I expecting to see heroic Gentleman fighters standing up for the honour of the mighty reds and what that video shows is the shittiest game of sign tennis ever, closely followed by what looks to be the newly invented game of bar stool skittles and then a quick round of bar stool cricket.

Hardly the evidence of a major clash between rival firms.

tbf the fella at the end chucking the bar stool over the car was fairly impressive. even though it didn't appear to hit anyone
