Today's game has been postponed due to frozen pitch

Probably a massive blessing in disguise that this game is off today. They would have been hammered and now gives the squad more time to work together

Bristol Post reporting that the game at the Stoke Gifford Stadium is postponed whilst showing a photo of Twerton Park. Top class journalism there again.

We also need to consider the effect of Long Covid on some players. I have a relative (a fit 44 year old) had Covid in March and is still suffering from some breathlessness and the inability to play the sport he played to the same level before he became ill.

Conspiracy theory here. Maybe one of our players has it. Joe Williams for example. His return date keeps getting extended month by month.

Not all players are open to announcing  that they have Covid and the club respects that by coming up with a cover story.

Looks like a lot of the Bears may turn out for the Barbarians this weekend as Saracens continue to believe rules are for other people!

Hopefully not. The new season isn’t that far away with plenty of injuries and international players, we’d have a thin squad come first game as it is.

Up to 1,000 fans will be allowed to attend 10 different English Football League games this weekend as part of the government's crowd pilots.

The news comes as discussions between the EFL and the government about a return for more supporters from 1 October continue.

No fans have attended an EFL fixture since March because of the coronavirus.

Three Championship games, four League One matches and three in League Two have been chosen for this weekend.

The following games, all taking place on Saturday, have been chosen (all kick-off times 15:00 BST unless stated):

    Championship

    • Luton Town v Derby County
    • Middlesbrough v AFC Bournemouth
    • Norwich City v Preston North End

    League One

    • Blackpool v Swindon Town
    • Charlton Athletic v Doncaster Rovers
    • Hull City v Crewe Alexandra
    • Shrewsbury Town v Northampton Town

    League Two

    • Carlisle United v Southend United (13:00 BST)
    • Forest Green Rovers v Bradford City
    • Morecambe v Cambridge United

Don’t Forest Green have a very small ground (5,000 capacity?). That’s a very large percentage and a huge advantage with home support.

Yes but plenty, won’t and some clubs will have more immune players than others.  You obviously can’t play those who have no immunity.  So let’s say in our squad we have 20 immune players and, pick any other championship club you like, say PNE or example,  only have 10 players with immunity.  How are you going to organise a competitive league on that basis?

Might beat Preston for a change then.

I am totally unaware of Mansfield’s circumstances, but are they significantly better? Or is it purely geographical for him, does he have links with that part of the country? I’m just realising apart from him being Irish I know nothing about him.

Mansfield has got one of the biggest budgets at that level. They’ve given previous managers Steve Evans and David Flitcroft more than plenty to succeed but with still no promotion. They went cheap and promoted from within and it didn’t work out. Obviously gone with a manager who has the ability to get something from nothing.

  8. I'm a football and Rugby season card holder. I hear that you get 10% off your rugby card if you have a football one.

I've renewed the football one and I'm about to renew the rugby one. Although in the basket it's still showing as full price. Is it just for New Customers?

What I found odd there was a large group of Gloucester supporters all sat in their red shirts

I couldn't understand why they would go to a game where their side is not playing and then wear your own colours

City fans using their free tickets?
