I think that's a misprint, Pete. Full Time has the crowd at 133, more likely, and I've seen brief video clips of the match where there's very few people at either end.

I know it's out of our area but the two Toolstation Western League Premier Division matches betweeen Helston & Falmouth this season attracted more than 3,000 spectators.

The game at Falmouth at Christmas was 1,845 while another 1,179 turned up at Helston on Thursday evening for the return game.

To me it needs a clean sweep, if nothing else to change the losing mentally. It must be difficult to keep going every week knowing you are on a different level to the opposition, and with our remaining fixtures our goal difference is going to take a real hammering

100% this.

Williams was hobbling around a bit and signalled across to the bench meaning a rethink on who Mehmeti was coming on for. Not ideal making two subs four minutes apart - maybe one option was to keep Conway on too until the Williams situation was sorted.

As it was, I think City looked better when Knight dropped back a bit and Mehmeti replaced him further up.

Dreadful game but do I give a hoot? Nah. Truro's fixture congestion is well documented and although they started quite brightly and showed the odd flash, they couldn't really get out of second gear (and they may not even have had a third gear). They made ten changes from the night before and on the bench was Stewart Yetton, their all time leading goalscorer at the age of 38 and who hasn't played for a while apparently.

Great scenes at the end, we took 1,103 out of a crowd of 1,238 (89.09% before you reach for your calculators!) and we won our first title since winning League Two in 2005. My lads were four at the time so this is really their first title and although it is from a division that we wouldn't have been in were it not for some shocking ownership issues in recent years, a title is a title. Not the same as previous titles, the feeling wasn't there, but they do say comparison is the thief of joy so for today, we are champions and now you'd better believe it!  

One can be a little too analytical about why things have turned around just lately and yes, one can bemoan the fact it didn't happen 10-15 games ago, or maybe even 6-8 games would have made a huge difference. But it's happened/is happening and long may it continue and it's time to enjoy it. Hopefully LM can keep their performance levels high and City can go into 24/25 with some genuine optimism. 

Last night at times was a joy to watch and although Blackburn were woeful at times, give credit to City's press forcing the errors. If the press didn't happen, then the defenders would have had time to clear - last night, City pressed further up the pitch IMO creating huge uncertainty in their wobbly back four. Great to watch though.

At the end of the day, we are all in it to see our football teams do well and enjoy the good times when they come. I'm off to Gloucester tonight to hopefully see my team Yeovil win National League South. Not a phrase I thought I'd say, least of all when we were preparing to face AFC Bournemouth in the Championship ten years ago tomorrow. But as a wise old sage once said, "We are where we are because we're here" and I'll enjoy tonight even though we have sunk so low in recent years. We HAVE to enjoy the good days like last night, like Southampton, like Leicester etc otherwise why do we follow our team? 

First of all, thoughts are with the poor fan that took ill this afternoon at Weymouth. Pretty sure it was a Yeovil fan, either way, just hope they make a full and quick recovery.

On the pitch, it wasn't going right as we were one down with a quarter of an hour to go. Might have pulled it back, might not have but no matter, the game will be replayed in 2-3 weeks time. Having spent this afternoon at the Mem, hopefully I'll be able to make the midweek rearranged game.

With Dover turning over Chelmsford surpisingly, it leaves us one win short of the title. Had the Weymouth game turned around and we'd won, we'd be champions tonight but it looks like Worthing next Saturday could be the one to clinch it. While we really don't want to be in NLS, we are embracing it now and had nearly 6.5k on Friday for Torquay. Today, the majority of the 4,712 were Yeovil fans, a great turnout.

Let's hope we never sink this low again. #GreenArmy

For some reason, Bridgwater United Women played on it yesterday. Has been a lot of rain in past 24 hours in Taunton apparently but seems a strange decision to allow another club to play on it when the surface is so fragile.

i actually like cornick, shows similar traits to weimann, just hot set up right,also like weimann. not as good as weimann yet but as HM has stated, not been played in his favoured role yet.

I think a big no. 9 should be one of the top things on City's shopping list this summer.

Before anyone flames me, someone like Chris Martin would be perfect. Not saying that City should go rob him from Rovers but he's the TYPE of player they could do with. Someone that holds the ball up, brings others into play and chips in with 10-15 goals themselves.

If we're honest, everyone is stuck with guessing what the FA/leagues will do and whilst I'd expect at least 2 to go down, I guess there could be a good number of changes next season with the rumours you've heard. I still maintain that with the Prem division having at least the same amount of Cornish teams next season, it'll make for an interesting set of play off fixtures

Ah thanks, that's very kind of you, appreciate those words. Limitations is a great word and no disrespect taken either, it was a good way of putting it.

The last couple of games since I posted that have seen two wins so things are already looking brighter & with us still having to play a few of the teams around us, I would hope we had enough to stay up.

Spoke to someone at the Swansea game that knows Cornick very well from his time at Luton and whose opinion I deeply respect. 

He said Cornick's success at Luton came by playing up front off a big number 9 and that playing out wide in a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-3 or even a 4-3-3 was not getting the best out of him at all. 

Only trouble is, City don't have a big number 9 for him to play off so maybe Cornick is not the problem here. 

Am going to my first England game at the age of 55 v Belgium on Tuesday.

I know one at Briz, one at Hengrove, two at Keynsham and now three who have recently joined Bishop Sutton. Bishop Sutton have had a horrific time, the team was absurdly poor at one point for the level it was playing, and over the last month with a new Manager they now are improving, with the sevens and eights they were conceding dramatically reducing. Bishop Sutton now are competitively losing e.g. 4-0 v top of the table Radstock with kids who will improve. The new manager has improved them, the kids have improved them, and hopefully they can with relegation  gain some momentum now for next season, with players stepping up from their U18's who are a decent squad.  

Noticed that. They lost 4-0 to Wincanton yesterday which compared with some scoreliones they've had this season, has been quite respectable. 

Their under-18's are decent, yes, we have them on Thursday night. Think a few have stepped up into the first team this season and some play for the reserves too. Like the sound of Fin Maddern although I've never seen him play.

Must admit I'm quite heavily involved with a club at risk of going down and we don't really have any idea as to how many are going down. I think it's hardly a big gamble to say Bishop Sutton and Cheddar will be the bottom two & if I were them, which I'm not, I'd be planning for next season at a step down. My side, Hengrove, are third bottom but have the other four teams in the bottom five to play still so our fate is in our hands.

One thing I have heard is that four sides may have applied to return from the Hellenic and three more have applied for promotion from below. If true, seven teams wanting to come in may be difficult to ignore, so maybe three will drop. Ironic really as in the ten years I have been a TWL secretary, don't remember many teams being relegated due to their lack of points. Chard (their sloping ground), Chippenham Park (their link to first team) & Ashton & Backwell (folded their first team) all went and a few moved laterally or downwards away from the TWL (Devizes, Bishop's Lydeard etc).

Not sure, Phantom, but Truro are playing at least one more game there, versus Chelmsford on Saturday night (yes, Saturday night) at 7.30pm. 

Gloucester City are hosting Boston United at 3pm before Truro's game later on. So there will be a National League North game followed by a National League South game on the same pitch, the same day. 

Having seen the pictures of Taunton's pitch on their Twitter account earlier, think they will struggle to play any time soon unless we have a good 4-5 days of absolutely no rain at all and decent drying winds!

Yes, only the Lansdown Lower is open for the games against the lower & mid table sides. For the other matches, Dolman is open + on a couple of occasions, the South Stand was too.

Bizarre day for Keynsham then as their first team game at Crown Fields was postponed very, very late after a shower of rain. Wincanton Town had arrived and warmed up apparently before the shower... seems strange.

Don’t really know what the answer is, playing through summer wouldn’t be ideal because of everyone wanting to go on their holidays & of course the high 30 degs weather we’ve experienced lastc couple of years at times. 

It's the GFA pitch that I'm on about. I deal wth the pitch hire bookings amongst other things and it's no exaggeration to say I could have filled it up from 9am - 7pm half a dozen times this weekend.
