Cardiff score most of their goals through set pieces so providing we defend better than of late we should be fine. My Wife is a Cardiff season ticket holder and i stood in the Canton End with her for the Preston game the other week and they were pretty poor after a bright opening 20 minutes. They seem to rely on very experienced players and have quite a mish mash of players. Ng is decent and Colvill could be decent if they gave him more opportunities.

We (Cardiff) have been terrible to watch this season. Trying to play it out from the back, passing it square and backwards all the time. Our defenders, who aren't comfortable on the ball, invite pressure on themselves. Our midfield players are all a muchness, they are just too defensive. We play with 'inverted' wide players, which means they have to keep cutting inside to bring the ball onto their stronger foot, it makes them so easy to predict.

Please, don't get me started on our strikers!

We are great at giving confidence back to those teams who are going through a sticky patch form-wise. Our so-called 'press' is laughable - it usually consists of our striker, Etete, jogging towards the defender with the ball and then following the ball like a dog chasing his tail and the defenders pass it around him in triangles.

I can't see where our goals are going to come from, to be honest.

BTW: I lived in Rumney for many years, not a bad place to live. It was always quite a hotbed of Cardiff fans in the area. I lived on the top of Rumney Hill at the back of the now-demolished Carpenter's Arms pub.

This is embarrassing and will send shockwaves around the football world. No one with any sense will touch us with a bargepole. Nigel was well respected by most and people will remember how he has been treated by the club, not the fans.

Seriously? It will probably be a topic of conversation on some Championship clubs' message boards.

Someone mentioned drinking in Newport, is this a decent option?
A guy with us has done his ankle so doesn't want to walk 25 mins to Pontcanna or the Bay area. Not drank in Newport for years , is it worth it?

Newport isn't a bad option for a few quiet beers before the game. You literally just have to stroll 50 metres from the station. Just be mindful that quite a lot of Cardiff fans use that station too.

If there’s a will there’s a way , I pride myself on getting away from escorts at away games , much older now so don’t do so many but when a young un always got away and ended up in random pubs .

As for Cardiff ( the time the young uns smoked out the Great western pub ) old bill had all the city fans kettled outside after 10 mins of realising the pub weren’t gonna sell any more beer and the old bill starting to gather round in large numbers I knew what was coming so a little manoeuvre between the police lines I was off like a slippery snake straight into the prince of wales just round the back of the great western had to keep me head down and say very little as lots of blue birds in there , saying that around the centre nowadays is deemed pretty safe cctv lots of Cardiff banned , there nastys tend to drink in the canton area ( our equivalent of Bemmy )

so basically keep your head down don’t get into a mob no colours no singing and shouting and you should be able to sneak off somewhere

    Cardiff fan here.

Yes, you've pretty much summed up how things are with some good advice. The city centre is relatively safe and has some nice bars to have a pint. Personally, if I was an away fan coming to Cardiff I'd head for the Bay area. It isn't too far to walk from the rear of the station (or get a short taxi ride). It's a really relaxing area to go to, with nice bars and restaurants, and trouble-free too.

Good that you mention staying away from the Canton area. I have NEVER seen any noticeable away fans drink there (I HAVE met lone fans without colours). This area is a stone's throw from the ground, it has lots of pubs that are rammed full of home supporters. Just not worth the risk.

    Interesting Twitter rumour

Know a fella Cardiff season ticket holder and seems their fans want Warnock back. Because they dead worried about going down and totally believe he will keep them up. Which he might

Love to see them go down

Very few of us Cardiff fans want Warnock back. It's looking increasingly likely that Sabri Lamouchi will be the new manager, with ex-City player, Sol Bamba, his number two. Strong speculation that three new players will follow Lamouchi's appointment; who those players might be, is anyone's guess!
