VAR cannot intervene once the ref has blown the whistle for offside. Perhaps he should have ignored the flag until the move was over but the assistant should never get another Champions League game.
German TV analysis said he was offside anyway so the linesman got it right even if he had raised his flag when the ball went in the net.

Lino has had an absolute mare there right at the death.
How many times are they told not to put their flag up for a close offside and in one of the most important matches of the year he flags for a dodgy call.

I heard she was a defence lawyer these days. Apologies if I have this wrong and this just goes to show what a weird memory for things I've got if this right, but was your dad a trade unionist who died some time ago and had quite a large funeral- trade union flags etc?
Yes she’s something along those lines. My Dad wasn’t a trade unionist but had a lot of friends in the Labour movement. I don’t recall any flags and things but I guess my mind was on other things.

Hanham, St George have always been mixed, but I'm surprised what you say about Fishponds. Were you born in 1960? I was born in 64, went to Whitefield and it was pretty much solid Rovers when I went there.
That’s a coincidence. My sister was born in 64 and also went to Whitefield. You may remember her as she once led the students out on strike.

Blackburn are being very generous tonight. Very rude not to accept their gifts .

It ain’t the truth mate. You’ve just spent too much time reading the Daily Mail comments.

He’s gone up another level since coming back from AFCON and is now guaranteed a start if fit. Wish he was still in our team.

Christ… Swansea must be shite if they can’t beat this shower

I just turned on to watch and I actually saw a shot! A pathetic shot but I guess I can’t have everything.

If you remember back to when Nige arrived he expressed concern about players’ fitness. We seem to be slipping back into old ways under Manning. I really don’t like the sidelining of the Academy players under Manning. Worried re summer recruitment, as should he still be here, god forbid; will we recruit, as in the recent past, too many have been’s and never will be’s.
That’s the problem with having a coach rather than a manager, they just think about the short term and doing what it takes to keep them in a job.
That results in ignoring the players coming through the youth system because it’s too much of a risk to play them. It also means they are more likely to risk picking players who have yet to fully recover from injury. Ensuring the fitness of the team is a long term activity - a short term coach doesn’t give it as much importance.- 1

Had 30 minutes not 10 and was garbage. Impossible that an underlying good player could be that bad
I dunno.. he looked just as poor as everyone else in a red shirt. He fitted in well.

Yep, you can’t tar a player after one appearance.
Maradona would probably have looked crap if he had to come on to the field during that performance.

How many Saturday’s like this have I seen like this in my life? It’s just been one of the worst performances this season.

No home team leading in the Championship

So easy for QPR - terrible goal to give away

Southampton commentators saying that their team were “tired”. Yep, that must be the reason.

Only a few hundred yards from the house Ray and Dave Davies grew up in. Also not far from the flat where the Incredible String Band lived.
