As someone who’s had the joys of navigating the Academy system a couple of things for me. Firstly your son or daughter has got to want to go into it and to enjoy it. Secondly you can go into an Academy too young but also too old. Very few of the later arrivals get Pro Contracts cos they’ve missed out on the training and hours an Academy provides. Finally once in Academy I think players will find their level. Yes there’s luck in terms of injuries and changes in managers etc but broadly you end up playing at your level irrespective of whether you move to a higher category Academy or not.

Back where we belong…. From a very smug and entitled Forest fan.

Huddersfield my tip to struggle this season. Lost a really good Manager and their success last season was largely due to him.

Can’t compare an individual sport where if you don’t get up you don’t win to a team sport where if you don’t get treatment you might lose

No offence to you, but it makes it very hard to be objective if you know the family socially.
No one is criticising Zak as a person and as a player he has lots of qualities. I'd just rather we had other options in our back line.
No offence taken. I don’t know them socially. My Son came through the Academy with Zak. My comment was from an objective view of where City as a team is.

Hi Zak’s dad
Not Zak’s Dad but I do know them both. Got a decent understanding or at least viewpoint of what it takes to be a pro footballer in the modern game

I don’t think anyone is questioning Zak’s personality, he comes across as pleasant and intelligent when interviewed, but invariably being at fault for at least one goal a game every time he plays does not make him a solid championship player, and that ultimately is what he has to be judged on.
Yeh you’re right maybe solid Championship player was incorrect. I think my point is that he’s on a par with where the team is.

Bit of an outsider view here. Zak is a great lad and imho is a solid Championship player. People on here judging him on on unrealistic Premier League aspirations

My favourite piece of data on these stats sights is that Joe Morrell is 6ft 1. Got to question where they get stuff from it’s that’s level of accuracy.

Their Keeper didn’t make a save. Typical Forest performance. They let us have the ball in midfield

Was very good at Pompey second half of last season and played quite a bit. Came back second half of this season but was behind Norris who was outstanding and therefore never featured
