What a load of rubbish with the cardboard cut outs....how on Earth does that improve the atmosphere? Madness.

Well its very far from ideal but now when they got the permission to let us in (limited numbers of course) it was much easier to re-arrange the plastic dolls, hence point out which seats can be taken.

And also with all the effetcs from the crowd it actually had a good vibe even when we weren't allowed to get in the stadium.

When (no idea timescales) they do start to allow fans back in, I can imagine it would be a nightmare trying to work out who sits where. We have five STs from one household so it would be fine for us to sit all together - but how many small groups are booked by one person but are from multiple households...

It was the first home game for Ferencváros last night, they managed it as excepted pretty well with the previously attached cardboard figures. And everyone seemed to be disciplined there, so that is a big thank you for the fans.19d8ff1385bd1e0ef098989813eb8e0c8e3700fff8f2e68f7ed6c37e76141f46.jpg

  3. Well it was really-really good seeing and hearing fans last night at a game. There were around 20 away fans as well, they all hugged together after every goal and they won 6-0 so there were a lot of physical contact between them, social distancing is in the past from this moment here I think... Game was decent (especially because it was a relegation fight between the 11th and 12th), 6 good goals including a stunner, here You can watch all six goals in the 1st video and the vibe from the stands.

There must be a way where households could sit together, like when cinemas don't allow 1 empty seat between but the opposite.

Seating is government guidance si I don't think they can do it. But for example at ferencváros stadium they can separate the seats with the already existing paper fans so it can be easier to sit on the right seat.

Also You can maybe sit next to Your paperself, that can be fun. ?

  5. Well as a big surprise (as literally in every country they state that maybe fans can't be at the games even next season) the Hungarian government announced that from THIS Friday, 30/05 fans can go to outdoor events with limitations.

Every second row has to be closed and only every 3rd seat can be taken in the opened rows, so it means that around 4000 fans can be at an Ashton gate sized stadium. Logistics for this has to be prepared of course but maybe a few ST holders can watch live footy as early as next Saturday. ?

  6. Well we're (re)starting today, the fans are at place, weather is good. Alongside with the noises and singing from the stands (which had a surpisingly good sound during the training matches) I feel this can have a very good impact if the game will be good.

If the the game is bad then these paperfans will have a sad presence, otherwise I'm really looking forward to it.

  7. Yesterday literally from nowhere Ferencváros held a training match (team training was allowed from Monday but they trained in small groups on the pitch throughout the whole lockdown, it wasn't forbidden). It wasn't announced and the FA said they won't send referees just for the league games and the bloke in the orange vest definitely doesn't look like a real referee ?

Anyway I watched the match summary not particularly because of the goals (it ended 4-1) but for seeing how they go into duels, how is man marking, etc. Its interesting because  for me it seems quite moderate and hesitant mentally it will be a long time before they get the same intensity in physical battles as before....

  8. I don't know if its a good base for further league restarts but in Hungary these are the verdicts and the schedule:

1, re-start at 23/05 with Cup semi-finals (23 nd 27/05) along with Ferencváros' previously shifted 2 league games (were shifted because of the Europa League last autumn)

2, league games following the original fixtures starting at 30/05

3, 2 tests / per teams / week during "mini pre-seaon", then tests 24 hours before every game. Same for referees, press can enter to a different zone in the stadium

4, every home team has to send a list of the personnel involved in a game 24 hrs before the game to the FA and a statement that they're COVID negative; max. 500 person (inc. all away team personnel)

5, if someone is tested positive the quarantine is only for that player / staff member for 2 weeks but they have to test everyone again the next day

6, obviously games behind closed doors, but held in everyone's own stadium, no neutral venues

  9. An announcement was made today by the government that professional sport trainings can be held from Monday, 04/05. As our FA said 21 days later games can be played behind closed doors so maybe the league will restart at 27/05 here.

TBF Hungary is one of safest country in Europe, 3rd I think as studies showed yet restrictions are lifted carefully and slowly (f.e. stores can open in full time from Monday but only in the countryside, Budapest will remain in strict lockdown. And no gatherings over 500 people till 15th of August). The capital is handled very differently from the countryside in every decision they make.

  10. Nagy is at Budapest now for more than 2 weeks (as he said compulsory home quarantine is over and it's 2 weeks here from the point a Hungarian citizen enters the country). He came home after the 3rd week.

He gave Skype interview and one as well to the papers yesterday, some insights on Bristol City training as well.

    main points were:

1, they trained via online video conference for the first 2 weeks, after that they got 2 weeks vacation (as they won't have any in the summer) and now they're trainig again together via online (mainly biking and gym work)

2, he will travel back 10-14 days before the first training

3, people are much less disciplined in England, for him it is weird why they can't follow rules

4, he says from his perspective as they're professionals they can't moan about maintaining motivation (though its not easy) or playing in empty stadiums as the olimpicons are in much worse position preparing 4 years for basically nothing

5, binary feelings about re-start of the season: he thinks the later it starts the more the players will be "gutted" next season. But when it starts people will gather in pubs, restaurants; he believes it will be regulated by the government and he is very eager to restart

6, his ankle: that little bone has now enough time to encapsulate and then it will turn out very soon after restart if the rest was enough or does it still cause pain. they consulted about it with the medical team before he travelled home

Also he got a home hair cut and now looks like an 18 years old academy player....

Thanks, really interesting to see this perspective. I take issue with one thing though, the idea that Steve Lansdown has to think about his future. Important to remember how astronomically wealthy he is. His wealth, and you’re right of course that most of it won’t be in cash, is over 50,000 times the average salary in the UK.

He could foot the wage bill for the club for the rest of his life while still living an incredible lifestyle and having millions to pass onto his family. Of course nobody expects him to do that, and we are all grateful for what he has done for the club. But the reality is that there will be people at the club, like everywhere in society, who are really struggling at the moment. He could prevent that from happening but instead is taking advantage of a scheme paid for by taxpayers (now and for god knows how long into the future) when he has made a conscious decision to become a tax exile. People are right, in my view, to question that.

Yes, I understand the frustration from that point of view of course. And also it's different in England as here we don't have owners but have a lot of government support for sports so the whole thing goes a little a differently (the fury against overpaid football players is the same ? ). But as a horrific example: a very good waterpolo team (leading the league, leading their group in the Champions League) has lost it's main sponsor a week ago, they said they won't finance it anymore and the local goverment withdraw its funding as well. And this week they said they're bankrupt, let all their players go and seized to exist... In 2 weeks time because of this situation. So these are very-very trying times for all and I know professional sport is the less of our concerns right now but I believe watching sports (for those who are used to it weekly) plays a big part of human's mental well-being so I hope it comes back as soon as it can. It means so much for so much people, even just talking about it before and after a game.

  12. I have to say it's quite interesting for me reading Your thoughts about the finance part during this pandemic.

For one reason is I just don't get it why everyone is still so upset with the owner, players after they announced this deferral (same opinion for other clubs as well). I guess SL has most of his fortune in estates, shares, etc. not actually in cash in a bank: he has to navigate and think about the future as well.

An owner doesn't have to spend all his money on his club (in any sports) he just have to make sure the club can and will prosper in the future as well, after the pandemic. All clubs will take firther hits as time goes by: imagine the future losses if fans can't go to games for let's say another 6 months. What now owners or club leaders can do is prepare for that 6/9/12 months in advance and make sure that those who are now furloughed for 2-3 months can be fully paid when they actually can work at games. If it takes getting money for this period from the government than be it.

And face it: during mankind's history there were always the rich people (or call them priviliged) and the others. Even during communism despite their doctrines. It won't ever happen that even under these circumstances the tea lady will get the same pay then the main assets, the players at any club.

As a closer example: at our firm we're on 50% pay cut for this month and the next one; we're depending on a worldwide known Spanish clothing giant to re-start producing and transporting to Hungary. We literally don't have any work to do since 01/04, shops are closed now, maybe starting again in May. So we are getting paid 50%, sitting at home, maybe checking emails once / day - but I'm getting a lot more money than the truck drivers as I work at the office, my 50% is more than theirs. So now I have to feel guilty about it (to be candid I offered that I can live if I don't get 1 months salary if it helps someone else)? And our owner (he has other businesses as well which are still up and running) also could have just said in March that "guys, this will take more 3 months with no income, my contract for the deliveries can be nullified in 45 days with the clothing company. I don't want to pay a cent from my savings without any income, so You're all fired, goodbye." But he didn't...

  13. Was in the morning news that a British citizen died in Hungary yesterday due to COVID19. RIP!

Listen to the authorities, share work duties with colleagues (who works from home, who's going in a few days a week if possible, it breaks monotony).

We have relatively low confirmed ill people (227 till today), people took the stay at home agenda surprisingly well and disciplined.

    Stay safe (and sane) everybody!
