  1. Will obviously come as no surprise but Mary Earps has withdrawn from the squad for tonight's game with injury. Birmingham City's Lucy Thomas has been called up from standby, although I expect that either Chelsea's Hannah Hampton or Man City's Khiara Keating would probably start in goal tonight

If you spot a Bristol City/England flag, it will most likely be the same one I usually have. I won't be at the game tonight (I'll be at a gig in London!) but a friend & co-owner of the flag will be at SJP

    Got sent this photo...

  3. Sarina Wiegman's 50th game in charge of England. Mary Earps' 50th cap tonight

    KO 8pm, live on ITV4.

Gutted I'm not at the game as I've never been to St James Park before!

Also, Toone (Ella) is in the toon (Newcastle)

First Lionesses game in a couple of years for me tonight, looking forward to it.

How have the 2nd and 3rd highest ranked sides on the world ended up in the same qualifying group? Going to be a huge game

Enjoy! Although I think England & France will still qualify for the Euros anyway

For me, next season the goal is to play and to be happy and feel settled at a football club. My future at the moment is unclear.

I love Bristol City and I have enjoyed my time there so much. But wherever my future lies I want to end up at a good club with ambition that has a long-term goal to be in the WSL.

Open admission here that she doesn't know if she'll be at the club next season. The goalkeeper situation in the team was crazy this season.

She's the Wales #1 so I wouldn't be surprised if she has to go somewhere else to maintain that form...

Stratigakis and Evans both put pen to paper in January, and we thank them for their contributions this season.

Both of them signed until the end of the 2024/25 season, so I'm guessing they had relegation clauses or were free to leave earlier. None of them made a real impact unfortunately

  7. And show the ends for another season. First one without Twentyman.

I was worried how the output would be, but I think it's been mostly tolerable.

  8. Unfortunate performance yesterday, and no wins at home at all this season.

The award winners announced after the game:
Women's Player of the Year: Amalie Thestrup
Women's Young Player of the Year: Naomi Layzell
    Women's Golden Boot: Amalie Thestrup
Women's Champagne Moment: Brooke Aspin scoring the winner at West Ham away
Women's Players' Player of the Year: Naomi Layzell

And nice to be involved in the presentations on behalf of the SC&T...

    The departures have started....

Rachel Furness confirmed as leaving after tomorrow

Was first tweeted by Emma Sanders at BBC Sport this morning, but the club have confirmed it now

She's out of contract at the end of the season. Don't know if she was offered a new one or not. Lauren Smith did say previously that she'd like to keep as much of her squad as possible.

Had she not had her lengthy injury this season, this season may have ended up a little bit different.

    Furney will be missed!

The women's end of season awards will be presented after the conclusion of the Everton match this Saturday.

This includes the Champagne Moment, which has been shortened down to two:
Rachel Furness' equalising header at home against Arsenal
Brooke Aspin's winner at West Ham away
    Voting closes Friday 10am

I read somewhere that the London Lionesses have just been bought by a massively wealthy owner who was going to throw money at them. A wealthy owner - just like us then! Oh wait…….

Yep, Michele Kang acquired them back in December

Although this season LCL have fallen down the table in the Championship & barely made survival, but that was mostly due to their pre-season

She's also the majority owner of Washington Spirit in the NWSL in the US, and majority owner of multi-time Champions League winners Lyon

  12. Catching up on this thread now, as I didn't feel checking it (or online in general) right after the game

After Man City losing to Arsenal earlier on Sunday, Chelsea had to do what they did to reduce the goal difference to give them a slim chance of winning the WSL title.

Although I left after the 7th (to go back & sit on the supporters coach)

Chelsea outplayed City on Sunday, simple as. Some good chances from City, and good that it was only 2-0 at half time.

Sunday was my 11th & final WSL away day of the season. Glad I've done Kingsmeadow (and other grounds). No real rush to go again soon...
