Born in Sarf London but moved to Nailsea in early seventies. First game was a "derby" at Eastville. Remember Keith Fear chipped a beauty over their keeper and City won (4-3?). Since moved a lot - north-east, north-west and Kent but have lived in Spain for seven years and will probably die here - but not just yet! Love it here though the local cider is very sweet. Recently on a bus wearing my City T-shirt someone said "**** the Gas". I suggested he have sex and travel but not sure he understood. Bless....
That should have been "F*** the Gas" Sorry for the error.

I live in a small town called Aigre in France. Originally my family came from Penge in London so I was saddled with Palace fans at every turn. We moved to Nailsea when I was very young and my Dad took me to a game at AG between Palace and City. After the game he asked me what I thought to which I answered
"I liked the team in red". To this day he hasn't forgiven me. The fact that my 2nd team is Millwall doesn't rest easy with him either. He's 99 in August so hopefully will understand my stance by then !! Somehow, though I doubt it.When I worked in Beckenham we called it Penge Regis.

That was the only one that came to my mind initially, seen that they were unbeaten in the league but had lost a couple in the cups. If it was based on how impressive the win was at the time I guess that would be top of the list.
Judging by how much of the ball Southampton have had in their recent games I would be more hopeful of quality of the tech than the action.
I do believe that we only had 30% possession on Saturday yet won.

I would hope we (England) refuse to play them. I also would hope that they don't receive a rouble from sponsorship or prize money. So we seem to have gone from Saudi sports washing to Russian war washing. Not for me.
Or me!

Or..... just look at the profits of the gambling companies and keep your money in your (or the publicans) pocket.

”Since then I have been to Bristol through my employment, and visits to family members nearby, a few times and generally enjoyed the experience. This was despite the faux ‘cockney’ accent (probably from watching East Enders) spoken by many locals.”

Lovely man. And so well informed - had statistics coming out of his ears! I was a guest at a game at Oldham in the late 70s which he was commenting on. At lunch we all put in a pound with our prediction. His was a home win 3-1. The result was actually 0-0 and it was one of the most boring games I have ever endured - I cannot even remember the opposition. But he was lovely company - modest, knowledgeable and unassuming. RIP

I recall him, in an interview, saying how, while at Leeds (?), he was taught how to keep the ball down and not belt it over the bar. I must also say that he was a bit, er, enthusiastic with some of his tackles.
