If this is true, surely the board has based this on one performance at Ashton Gate this season.

He spent £7.5m in the summer too, so I wonder how much of the nest egg he will get.

He’s only got 70 games under his belt in professional management, meaning he’s still a novice.

I’ll give him a chance but Nige was undoubtedly the best man for the job right now and Tinnion and the Lansdowns still need to go.

Don’t think Pearson was the best man imo I think he flattered to deceive on the pitch and we didn’t threaten enough at home. A lot of people are very pro Pearson on her and I understand that I just think he was a tad overrated on the pitch.

Ok that’s fair enough . Sorry but I really fail to see the attraction of sacking a highly experienced manager who wasn’t given funds to replace him with Someone pretty much unknown and set up to fail.

He isn’t unknown you may not know him but he has been on championship radar for years but has captain/leader and manager - he has picked and chosen his jobs because he is highly rated enough to be able to. Teams play solid good well drilled football.

Can you expand on why?  (other than it not being Rowett, Jones, or LJ!)

His teams like to press and are very drilled with clear style of play, we haven’t had that in years in my view, quite progressive and to be successful in this league in 2023 you need identity which I struggled to see under Pearson. He is a coach unlike Pearson as well turned down champ jobs 2021 so been on the radar of teams for a while.

    Are you John Eustace?

Joined yesterday and have been talking about him as if we’ve just got in guardiola.

No I’m not John Eustace believe it or not I wanted Fat Frank as my #1 but happy with Eustace.

QPR isn’t a club we should be aiming to be like and he was linked with swansea but he was Birmingham manager at the time so it was unlikely anyway mate .

He turned down both QPR and Swansea in 2021, before he was Birkinghsm manager.

It's amazing they've managed to appoint a bloke with almost the exact same record with Birmingham as Pearson with us.

Win a third, draw a few, lose the most

    Very happy if Eustace appointed.

  7. Believe it or not Mciness, I mean the football was the worst of anyone in the last 20 years by a mile, but I remember thinking it was an exciting brave appointment. Turned to shit though. He managed to destroy Fontaine, sign Ryan Mcgivern and play McManus and Bates centre back. Blimey he made SOD look like a success so so dire.

It might have been mentioned already but I note that Coventry, under Mark Robins, have won just two of their last 12 games….

Funny thing is I thought they were excellent tonight

Beale won’t be cheap having been at Rangers and is full of himself.

    Manning will cost compo.

I don’t think either will be cheap all-told….but that’s only my view.

Not sure Beale would come probably enjoying a nice compo package that he potentially would only give up for a biggie.

You do realise this means nothing, right? Odds are shortening simply because of where people are placing their bets. Bookies know nothing, just like us.

Really if that’s the case where is Sir Alex or I would like to put a bet on Big Ron, of course they mean something they don’t need to be in the know to create an educated list.

That’s fine then, you’re someone who wants attractive football first and foremost by the sounds of it.

What I find is that many managers give it - I wanna play fast flowing, front foot, high press football, when they first come in.

But when results suffer, they change.

I think we should be open-minded about Rowett, as it’s possible his style at Millwall is influenced by factors like budget.  His signings this summer seemed to indicate him trying to transition away from the style we’ve seen under him.

Yes i agree it is important for me if I am spending my cash, and yes you are right to be open minded as we all said the same about Cotterill and look what happened, the only thing I would say is at Brum, Derby and Millwall it’s all been very similar I just don’t see him keeping bums on seats at the gate.
