As hilarious as this is, it probably only just makes it in the top 10 ‘gifts’ we’ve had from them in the last decade. That’s how embarrassing they are as a football club.

    My list in order:

    1) Relegated to Non League by a team wearing their kit

    2) Losing Matty Taylor to us for peanuts after saying he wouldn’t go for less than £10 million.

    3) Sainsbury’s screwing them over

    4) Tent Stands

    5) Santas Grotto

    6) The Worlds worst open top bus tour

    7) Joey Barton taking them to the Basement

    8  This stand fiasco

    9) Getting knocked out of the FA Vase by Bath City

    10) the ‘Unlucky da shit’ video

Its likely that I’ll suddenly remember some other giant Rovers related **** up that should be in this top 10 (there’s been so many) so it’s worth bearing in mind that the order can change but number 1 will always be number 1 ?

    It will be packed

Sadly I've made a faux pas with planning and won't be in my home town this weekend

You're all in good hands with Joe Malik, the team at the Tavern are a great bunch and will look after everyone, and the local weather forecast is hot all day

Thanks for reply mate .Sounds like it will be a great day .

  3. I have been watching City since 1969 .Can remember Bob being around seemingly forever . Could not miss him ,always stood out in the crowd with his scarfs and badges .

Rip Bob .My thoughts to his family and friends .

This is most certainly not in the same league as this awful and tragic news, nevertheless, it is a related sickening and shameful reflection on our Club. I sometimes reach out to away fans, via their forums, to help inform the match thread. I got this response a couple of days ago from a Blackpool fan.

‘Hi, at the end of the 2001/2 season City came to Bloomfield Road on a promotion charge; Blackpool scrapping to avoid a relegation battle to the bottom division. City came in large numbers. The 5 -1 score line derailed City badly. Unfortunately, the behaviour of some of the Bristol fans was humiliating to their club. I was with my daughters aged 7 and 5 and we got attacked by about 10 City fans outside the ground (wholly unprovoked or stimulated) - until some older City fans (mainly older couples) stepped in (which I will always be grateful for). My girls were shaking and trembling, seeking protection behind my back. I had a bloody nose and bust lip. For that reason I see most of your support as the lowest life in the football league, having no ethics or integrity. You have a lovely city but Rovers are the only team I can respect and always come to Blackpool in larger 'nosier' numbers. That may be not what you wanted to hear but facts are facts, sorry. My son and his mate will be there on Saturday and I wish you all the best.‘

Something not right about this post ,first of all I thought yes this guy is right about the events ,sickening but did say that other City fans  jumped in to help out .But after that praise he went on to say we are all scum etc and Rovers are the Bristol team he respects . Same horse punching , boob cricket mob he means I presume ?

  5. I remember going to watch that  ,was so dangerous ,no wonder it didnt last too long . I was opposite the ambulance that took away one of the fatalities . Sickening to see ,never went back to watch it after that ,think it may have been the last year anyway . Dont those races normally take place in wide open water  ?

Since when has it been appropriate for someone to walk around Ashton Gate proudly wearing Coventry City FC attire? It wasn't even like she was trying to hide the badge yesterday. Actually, flaunting it! Bet she was applauded by the 'new fans' we have attracted since becoming a 'day out' rather than a football club!

City is not like it used to be...

Sort of get your point ,and do get a bit annoyed when I see someone in a Man U shirt or Liverpool  shirt etc at AG  but Coventry I would have thought a bit strange but no more . If I went to another game ,not City I would def not wear City colours ,would seem to be asking for trouble .

Reminds me of JET. Plenty of ability but no interest in applying himself to the job at hand. Totally stolen a wage from BCFC.

Not like JET at all in my opinion  . Loved watching JET always trying to create something ,lots of skill ,also v strong .Ok he wasnt going to chase back but was always a presense on the pitch .Must have been a nightmare to play agaiinst . KP nowhere nr as good .

I have never understood why so many consider Jackl to be some kind of legend.

No doubt he about his skills but he was a lazy bugger who scored a massive 7 goals for City. Osman left him out one game and announced that ‘a few tricks and a 30yrd shot isn’t enough’

A maverick carried by the rest of the team.

I get your points Robbored but I for one loved Jacki playing for us .A joy to watch

Its works with terracing but is a pain in the arse with seeting. Its what has stopped me from going to the Bears so much as you're constantly up and down for people either going to the loo or getting a refill.

Only been to a few Bears games but it does amaze me that people cannot sit and watch the game without going for constant refiils . Very different feel about watching City than the Bears .I have always thought it is unfair on football fans as opposed to every other sport that we cant take a tipple into game with us .Discrimination ???

Short memories that lot . I remember waiting in the pub for a minibus of gas (mostly mates) to come back from Cardiff after Holloway had taken them from clear at the top to dropping out of the playoffs on the last day. It was ******* hilarious. Even if I did have to dodge a few objects  being thrown during the night ???

Ha Ha ye remember that .We played already promoted Preston and their fans were on the pitch celerating .They didnt get ( at first ) why we we so happy too .

I have no idea, of course, but I can only think you must be under about 30 years of age...?

It's very easy to mistake Rovers for the shambolic, embarrassing, joke of a club that we see today and think they are just a little figment of fun, there to keep us amused as an aside to whatever we are doing....

Those that remember them as a rival however, will/should never forget what a vile, rancid, cesspit of scum actually lurks over there.

The absolute definition of "little man syndrome" who'd rather drink each others piss than help us if we were burning infront of them.

Untterly vile club, whose supporters turn into mouth foaming, neanderthals at the very thought of any game that might possibly attract more than 8/9000 fans to it and their hatred of us goes beyond anything you might see in many other places.

It's the 1 reason I'd actually entertain another Bristol Derby, so that those young enough to only think of Rovers as a jovial laughing stock, get to actually see the grotesque underbelly of what they've only ever seen from a distance.

For many, who remember them from 20+ years ago, their troubles are a delight to behold and they couldn't happen to a more fu###d up bunch of spawn.

Their kit, their dirge of a song, their inferiority complex, their inbred, bitter, deluded interpretation of who/what they are, makes every moment they struggle, a real pleasure..!

    Absolutely spot on mate .
