i haven't been on this thread for a while so just had a bit of a catch up over the last couple of weeks and it has cheered me up no end. Not sure which is funnier, their regular faux pas or the pathetic attempts at banter by the majority of thier fans I almost feel sorry for some of their more sensible posters.
and as for our fans who can't understand why so many enjoy reading this thread, then this freshers stall explains it all. How can you not take the pi55 out of this lot?
Perhaps they should start a "I'm not interested in the Rovers" thread where they can converse with like minded fans?

I expect Brownhill and Pack (less obviously) are in the team for their legs. If its a similar system to saturday then COD will switch wings and Tomlin will be free to roam once we have the ball
-
Well the scoreline was an acceptable one and no doubt in the future we will be told how 10,000 rovers fans turned up, had the Chelsea hooligans on the run and their team battered Chelsea"s legendary team.
The truth is Rovers benefitted from the bigger clubs indifference to the EFL Cup as they did against Cardiff and as Wycombe and Scunny nearly did against us. Still we are there in the chance to meet a big team again,( although i fully expect an away draw at Gillingham ).
I hope the not quite sell out away crowd enjoyed their day. Now on to the glamour of Swindon, whilst we tackle Aston Villa as equals.

Another couple of beauties from gaschat..
They are just massive, wish we could be like them and take that many to an away match. All they got over us is a decent ground and that's it, okay they will say they get bigger home gates but its like a library wheras the mem has a better atmosphere with half the crowd. The reason why they keep throwing the ground in our faces is because that's all they can can throw in our faces. The thing is we know it isn't the best stadium that's why we want out. They can't even claim that myth anymore after seeing the atmosphere for their Severnside derby recently.

He checks this place last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Pretty much like myself and many others. Come out of the closet Phil. There is a nice real actual seat waiting for you in the Lansdown Stand. They are really comfortable. You will also be able to access the fans village pre match and enjoy a nice beer/cider in the sun with a big screen to watch and sports action. There is also plenty of food outlets dotted about. Or if you prefer you could go into our fantastic sports bar which went viral during the Euros. You may have seen that already? Inside there is an even bigger screen, the biggest pub screen in the UK. If you are feeling peckish you can sit down and have a meal.
Inside our horse shoe shaped concourses you can walk completely through. You will find some artwork on display in the SS of our club legends. You will find many food and drink outlets in the concourses, there is even free WiFi in the concourse. There are many TV's to watch the early kick offs and it shows our game during the game. Quite handy if you need a pee.
Oh please excuse my ignorance, I am not sure if you know what a concourse is? Considering Charnoboyl doesn't have any.
If you have the budget I can give you details of all our hospitality suits and boxes?
Oh and we are soon to have a further two extra big screens installed in the stadium which will go rather nicely with our new electronic advertising boards.
I look forward to showing you around all our facilities and welcoming you to the home of Bristol Championship football.
When you put it like that it shows just how far we have come. No wonder thier envy is overflowing at present.

First the Facebbok likes and now this. If ever there was proof that they are "coming for us" then this is it.

On 9 August 2016 at 17:43, bert tann said:I wasn’t going to post on here today because I realize that lampooning Rovers to get a serious point of view into the public arena is not something which is popular with everyone and can maybe get a bit stale. In fact ( better I say it before anyone else does) should a City fan go on a Rovers forum and write in the style I do he or she wouldn’t be very popular here.
But I do feel Danny, Phil and the flea should have a response.
It’s not the South West Stand which is the problem nor the canopy, the Facebook likes or any of the other mind numbing stuff which comes out of Rovers. It is the boasting about and drawing attention to our weak points which niggles me. We shouldn’t be serving these things up on a plate to our detractors. Just as Nicholas used to open his mouth and present countless gifts to our rivals Wael is allowing the same to happen now. Only today Darrell is quoted as saying “it’s not if it’s when” about new signings which is exactly the phrase Nicholas used about his ill fated stadium dream. Doesn’t anyone at Rovers think about these things ?
I know there is a hard core of fans who will see no wrong in anything Rovers do no matter how absurd it is. But equally I’m convinced there is a quiet majority who cringe about the amateurish approach just as I do. The perception of Rovers as a cheap rag bag club is being allowed to continues and the effect is two fold. Firstly, if results start to go the wrong way many fans will have had their confidence damaged by these self inflicted wounds and so will turn their discontent on the team and manager much more quickly than they would otherwise be expected to. Secondly, the lackluster view of Rovers in the wider community will remain unchanged and so, in the longer term, persuading new fans to become associated with our club will be much more difficult than it should be.
If you are looking for something positive then I suggest we stop making ourselves look ridiculous by boasting about putting hand dryers in the ladies toilets and try something like this :
- Find a good cause in North Bristol with which a genuine connection can be made
- One with which our owner, staff and supporters can feel a genuine affinity
- Use professional help to explore possibilities of involvement with that good cause
- Find how a Rovers connection can make a positive impact on that good cause
- In conjunction with the good cause prepare a long term plan for co-operation
- Make a commitment in cash and man hours to implement that plan
- Make sure the Club President takes a personal interest in the venture
- Use a professional agency to publicise the association between Rovers and the good cause
- Hire an A list celebrity for the opening launch to ensure maximum media exposure
- Allocate competent management to oversee the long term development of the relationship with the good cause
- Ensure adequate involvement of the owner, staff and supporters in the continuing relationship with the good cause
- Make sure the publicity regarding the relationship with the good cause is imaginative, sustained and of high quality
- Demonstrate to sports fans across the whole of Bristol that our President’s February 2016 commitment to promote Rovers active participation in the community is being fulfilled.
I'm with Danny on this one, there is no way he's a gashed. Articulate, sensible, passionate and seems to have a plan. Please don't let him near the boardroom/boardtent at the men.

Gutted about losing the battle of Facebook likes. It makes our superiority in head to head matches, historic league positions, trophies, current league, status, facilities, infrastructure, finance, attendances meaningless now.

They referred to the 'famous blue and white quarters'. Where does this myth come from that they're in any way famous ffs
Don't forget their world famous anthem "Come on Eileen"

Has anyone ever considered that they are infact an elaborate prank? A Spinal Tap of the football world if you will. This would explain the constant feed of hilarious news coming from them. I think the joke is on us and someone somewhere is giggling at us for falling for it.

Anyone else think ****heads is quite possibly the worst, least insulting nickname possible? It's completely devoid of any creativity whatsoever. It's like us just referring to them as the c***s. It has no relevance apart from just being a standard insult.
Always thought that. It's like calling our ground "Trashton" Gate. Let's forget that they tried to steel it once and the fact that to a man they would cream themselves if they owned/stole it.
Add thier basic misunderstanding of what went on in 82 they really don't help themselves. But when you think about it, you can understand why they come out with such desperate rubbish. What else have they ever had over us? Pipping us to the title in 1990 and ....... err............... Didn't thier pies win an award once?
Theyd be better off forgetting about us and concentrating on themselves. I reckon that's what's holding them back, well one of the things holding them back. Most of the gas heads on here are a case in point. They achieved mild success last term ( I refuse to acknowledge winning a penalty shoot out to get back in the league as success) and yet all they can do is crow that we should be worried that they might get promoted to our division..... One day.
No wonder they are a laughing stock, and not just in Bristol now.

Fair play to the Sags, it's only took them 7 years to arrange.
To be fair, its probably taken Windass that long to reach the very bottom of the barrel to actually consider this. Either that or Rovers are in negotiations to sign him

Windass goal won the most lucrative game in world football. A game they could only dream about being in. Daniel sent them to semi professional level. A few of our fans presented Daniel with a bottle of champagne in a jovial way. They pay Windass to talk at their home ground.
even their banter is tinpot.
