I don’t know if your aware but caz is THE founder of HerGameToo, it was her brainchild, she reached out to the other girls and got them on board and made the original video, some of the abuse she has had is simply horrific not to mention the outright lies and slander. She went to an awards event with the city rep Eve,representing HGT which is much more than just  Bristol Rovers, what should she do say no cos our managers a knob? It’s her bad luck the team she supports has decided to plunge headlong into the 1970s. She won’t stop being a rovers fan but at this moment in time she can’t reconcile the direction of the club with the aims of her organisation.

Barton and the gas ownership are pretty much a disgrace to modern football.

I’m sure their ethical, gormless ******* powers that be at the top will do absolutely nothing about it, along with their proud and strong connection with her game too, will be absolutely thrilled to see him agreeing with it and getting involved for absolutely no reason.

The ‘proud and strong connection’ with HerGameToo hit the buffers with the signing of javani Brown, neither of the two gas founders has attended a game this season as they cannot agree with the direction the club appear to be travelling in(off the field)and Barton’s latest nonsense probably won’t help a fractured relationship.

Ah the ‘can’t comment for legal reasons’ argument. You most definitely can comment on things like that but you need to tread carefully. They may well have complained to the club about the Jacqui Oatley thing but I don’t recall it once ever being mentioned publically. Come to think of it I’ve never seen said apology either. Not a good look for the campaign to remain silent on these matters. The whole point of awareness is for people to see it. Complaining in quiet does absolutely nothing.

They have a legal advisor, the advice is to NOT comment on live legal cases as you can be in contempt of court, it’s not hard to understand is it? Barton’s backtracking and sudden profession of liking the woman’s game and weasling out of his criticism was directly due to being asked by the club to retract his comments.
At the end of the day Bristol Rovers have put that campaign in a damned if you do damned if you don’t position. What would have happened if they’d have laced into Barton about his court case which he walked Scott free from?

  4. Couldn’t comment on Barton’s live legal case for reasons already covered, made a formal complaint to the club about Barton’s comments about oatley which prompted an apology from the idiot. I don’t recall seeing a picture of them with Barton only him holding a HGT board up at a game, a hollow gesture from the man as we know.

Fella you have no idea what I base my opinions on, but for the record I agree that baseless internet bullshit is not good and it isn’t a laughing matter for young women to be relentlessly targeted and lied about.

My personal opinion has been formed on said persons behaviour in the past towards and impacting people I know. I’ve not said what, when or who but you say you know that person. If you really know that person you’ve probably got an idea so I’ll leave it there.

You can have your own opinion, I can take a good guess at what you refer, all I’ll say is  there’s two sides to every story, I could probably unload a lot of accusations myself but I wouldn’t do that on any public forum. Some people might lower themselves to that but it’s not for me.

  6. There’s a small group of internet warriors who’ve gone to extreme lengths to discredit hergametoo spreading increasingly ludicrous and defamatory rumours about the founders in an attempt to get them shut down( god only knows why) but they seem to be very bitter and twisted about it. I’m afraid a few people seem to have bought into the bullshit and propagate the myths, I can assure you it’s absolutely laughable some of the shit that’s been put on social media but it’s no laughing matter for young women to be relentlessly targeted and lied about.

Thanks for the personal attack but I’ll leave it at this - elements of your post are not factually correct. No interest in an argument but there definitely are people in the cause out for their own gain and nothing else.

That’s before we get to racist, homophobic Amy the Swansea fan.

But sure, you can’t criticise anyone if they’re doing ‘good work’ can you.

You’re quite happy to personally attack them though? Which parts aren’t factually correct?

Can we do both? I mean pour scorn on some vacuous, arrogant grifters who are doing this for their own ends and the corporate freebies AS WELL as the bastard who hit a woman?

    Asking for a friend.

Please enlighten me on how putting countless hours into a campaign in your own time for free whilst paying for your own tickets to matches whilst receiving untold vile abuse from Neanderthals makes someone an arrogant vacuous grifter? I had you down as one of the more reasonable posters on here but it turns out you’re just another misogynistic idiot.
clearly you have a pretty big axe to grind here

So they are still happy to work with them for one already guilty charge, but if it's two guilty verdicts it may be too much?

Makes no sense from their point of view. I hope they aren't getting paid by Rovers as it looks a bit of a conflict of interest/brown envelope situation.

No, been advised not to comment by legal advisor, pretty sure their statement says about reviewing relationship with rovers once case has concluded. Rovers have effectively binned everything off with them to please Barton so I’d be very surprised if they were overjoyed at this signing.

What I don't understand about this is he's already admitted and been charged for one assault against a woman already?

So where do they stand on that?

As I understand, the other assault was at the same time as the one he pleaded guilty to, he’s pleading not guilty to the second so it’s an ongoing case.

  11. Man Utd’s away support is second to none and has been for donkeys years, back when they got relegated to div 2 (as it was then) they were taking thousands everywhere, causing havoc at most places, it’s easy to knock them about tourists but most of the lads going away are Mancs  from way back

  12. Bless ‘em, they are quite delusional, had one of them saying “ you shitheads have never done anything like it, you are so bitter” yes I replied if you discount getting promoted from the division you’ve just scraped into, winning 6-0 away at Bradford and 8-2 against Walsall on the final day, winning the title and also winning the Johnson’s trophy final just for good measure, I suppose we haven’t.
complete bewildered silence from the daft Herbert.

Not too worried about the lack of leaders. Bit overrated in my opinion. Enough experience around to sift through problems on the pitch, in theory anyway.

Our lack of good footballers is the real worry. Somehow our footballing ability gets worse the further forward you get. Opposite of what you want really.

Every successful team needs leaders on the pitch, someone the rest look to when it’s not going well, who lead by example and won’t tolerate lack of effort and pride. Roy kean, Tony Adams John terry, winners, leaders, organisers. We have literally nobody who fits the bill, a group of players who stand about looking at each other when yet another soft goal is conceded, it’s embarrassing.

  14. There’s no leaders at this club, it’s a disconnected shambles from the top down, our owner is rarely seen at the club, do we have a board? Jon Lansdown puts out a tweet when we win or the bears win, the manager was sat in the stand, who’s the leader on the pitch? Who had their sleeves rolled up ready for a battle and to lead the team? Pathetic, half hearted challenges standing miles off the opposition, bullied off the ball easily. It’s a cosy comfy set up where there’s a complete abdication of responsibility. Perhaps mr Lansdown might care to spend a bit more time around the training ground putting the fear of god into his employees as I’m sure he would at his other business.

It is very hard to pass the ball when half of the team is hiding. On Saturday we saw a team where every player wanted the ball all of the time. As soon as they pass they make themselves available to get the ball back. Each time their players looked up they had 4 or five options both short and long. For years we have had very little movement off the ball except when occasionally when we are 2 in front and have our tails up. I think this came from years of trying to stop the opposition instead of playing our own game. Last night for 90 mins I thought we were quite good. Some of the last ditch defending was great and we opened them up several times. For me we lost the game because we made substitutions for the sake of them and lost our shape (which had been very good) completely. The players that came on seemed to do their own thing rather than fitting into the shape.

Absolutely! We have players who don’t seem to want responsibility for the ball and the ones who do have so little options it either goes back to Bentley or is given away in an attempt to bring stationary players into the game. It’s a big mental issue at the moment, last night Baker had an easy 5 yard lay off to massengo but opted to boot it out of play and surrender possession, which led to the madness of the next couple of minutes, that’s a mental/confidence issue which has been running through the squad for some time.

  16. He’s got a massive job on his hands. My concern is we’ve been here before, the much maligned Shaun o’Driscoll called the club a basket case and was tasked to change the whole ethos around, which in fairness I believe he did, unfortunately we got relegated doing so, but the foundations were laid for cotts to kick the club on. Fast forward to today the clubs a basket case and Pearson’s been tasked to change the whole ethos of the club. If we had been through a couple of boardroom/ownership changes in that time I could understand but it’s the same mistakes being made by the same person time and time again.we can only hope that Nigel has impressed upon the owner a suitable blueprint to sustain this club at a minimum a competitive championship side without the constant chopping and changing ideas/sound bites and spin we’ve put up with for the last god knows how many years.

The Gas vs Swindon...? | Bristol Rovers GasChat Forum

Absolute state of that first post :rofl2br:

Marvellous! Fresh from getting battered by Exeter, scraping a draw with the mighty Barrow and struggling to an undeserved win against Crawley , this chump is still trumpeting the championship potential nonsense. Quite what potential he believes a club with one of the worst stadiums in the league, average to mediocre support and an owner who stumbles from one disastrous manager to another has to achieve championship status is beyond my comprehension. Currently closer to non  league again than the championship.
