The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)
Abraham Romanovich replied to Loderingo's topic in Football Chat
Sorry if I misunderstood ,but i went on the BT website to find out about a refund on my sports package found a link which will credit the monthly charge against your next bill . Just provided account number and email address - no complaints from me and took a couple of minutes. -
I don't know if this is a scam or not, but I just had a phone call with a (clearly) recorded voice saying I've won a competition and could choose either £250 or 2 tickets to an Elvis Presley tribute show, after a short pause it then said press one for the money or two for the show.

This is part of the problem and needs to be addressed, you can't have a 2 tier system where a wealthy elite only consider their own self interests. Football needs all clubs ,with all the money from TV, it is frankly obscene that it is not shared out on a more equitable basis. -

Hopefully some good will come out of this crisis and football will take a long hard look at itself and how it operates. All clubs should ban fees to agents ,if players feel the need to employ them they can sort out their commission. Every club in each division should employ a salary cap based on previous seasons revenue . Every club should field at least 4 UK players under 23. All 92 clubs should have equal representation on all decisions and if the PL don't like it they can **** off and join some super European league. At the end of all this there will be a big period of reflection in football and society in general and the realisation that things should not return to normal as there are so many issues which require reevaluation -

All results from this season are erased it never happened ,start a new season when safe to do so .with teams lining up like they did last August. In this world crisis football is way down the agenda , and for the life of me I can't understand why convoluted ideas are being proposed in order to complete the season. If fans can't attend really what is the point. ? -

I really don't understand this argument, finish the season whatever it takes. I would much rather start the 20/21 season say mid September when hopefully normality is returning and just void this season . -

Earlier on in the crisis they showed live Italian /French league games behind closed doors - like watching a better class of pub football without the passion. Fans are part of the game and playing behind closed doors should be opposed at every level, it is even handed out as a punishment. Imagine watching Liverpool celebrate winning the league at an empty Anfield . Football is all about fans and without them really what is the point. -

I'm not in favour of finishing the season at any cost, the powers that be should set a date say 15th June and if crisis is still continuing expunge all results from the 19/20 season in effect cancelling it . To try and complete at any price will impact severely the following season so in my mind make a big decision now and look forward to the new season. -

Just to be factually correct the record attendance refers to last year. Still the height of irresponsibility to hold it after cancelling all football and rugby. People react to perceived risk and by letting it go ahead somehow down plays the impact of the need for self distancing. -

Day 13 without football: Next door neighbour was leaving for work, so I opened the window and sang , “You’re supposed to be at home!” -

My particular beef at the moment is with the BBC and their treatment of self isolation for the over70's They inevitably interview a 70 plus luvvie who witters on about more time to bake biscuits or enjoy the garden or catch up with friends on Skype. I'd rather hear about Doris from Wigan who lives alone in a council block and has no internet or mobile phone and is worried sick -
Well, it needs to be someone who suits the media age, with charm and TV friendly looks. So, Michael Gove probably.

Bristol City v Stoke City Match Day 15
Abraham Romanovich replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
This seems an opportune moment to post the only known joke relevant to Stoke City. "My biology teacher tried to explain chromosomes to us using a biblical metaphor. Apparently XY is Adam, XX is Eve, and YYY, Delilah."
