  1. The 97/98 team might be because we're playing Watford who got promoted with us.
  2. I presume they're doing Remembrance stuff before the game, so it probably doesn't quite work then. Could be a right laugh if we're 2-0 down again though.
  3. Yep. Lincoln were ball 8 as it was done alphabetically, but we would have been ball 4 which ended up being Burnley. Obviously if we'd actually been in the draw it wouldn't have panned out like that, because we can't have nice things, and we'd have ended up going to Burnley or Blackburn or similar.
  4. I do think there's some misunderstanding over how these squads are put together. Southgate obviously trusts them and it's naive to think that club form should be the only consideration when being picked. Every country there will have players who are picked no matter what because the manager trusts them. You need a consistent spine. It would do no good to suddenly swap out the keeper, centre backs and midfield right before a tournament, because of injuries/lack of club form. Always space for a last minute call up of course, but guaranteed they won't play straight away.
  5. Maddison eh? That'll ruin a narrative or two....
  6. There is a reserve day on the Monday, but I think that only gets used if there's no play at all or not enough overs for a result, they'd still try and finish on the Sunday using DLS if they can.
  7. I think that's what is known as a good hiding.
  8. The poster has evidently decided that Pearson should go, therefore whatever team he picks will be wrong, regardless of what actually happens in the match.
  9. Yeah, otherwise you'll be on their case wanting them sacked before they've had a month in the job,
  10. Curran has been the best death bowler in the tournament to this point. Just the way it goes sometimes.
  11. We'd have only got Burnley away or something equally unappealing. Obviously Lincoln will pull out one of the big boys.
  12. Chester are my local side these days, so I go and watch them when I can, and I know a few people who would have been there last night, think they had about 150 or so travel down. Reading various bits it seems that it was unsegregated which Banbury are now admitting was a mistake, and exception was taken to Chester fans celebrating when they scored. Banbury have had a few issues this season with a partcular group of kids causing trouble and it sounds like last night was more of the same.
  13. Innit. As I've said previously, I only hope that Pearson and the players have more testicular fortitude than some of our fans, otherwise we might as well give up now.
  14. A hell of a lot of words when you could have simply said "I want the manager sacked" and added to the already multiple threads on the subject.
  15. Sykes and Klose being hooked at the same time as him might suggest that Pearson held them responsible for not protecting him enough.
  16. "We had players who basically copped out. We don't really have a competitive squad in the way we hoped we had, and that's a big disappointment. "We've clearly got players who are not showing enough moral fibre. I take responsibility - it's my team. "It's not good but we'll have to deal with it. We need a response on Saturday [at home to Watford]."
  17. Tanner is still banned, last game of 3.
  18. If they haven't got it by this point, after everything that has been said by Gould and Pearson about the state we're in, then they never will.
  19. Quoting Mark Carter to make your point should be a bannable offence. The bloke is utter poison, far worse than Ian Gay.
  20. I assume the "real fans" there tonight were the ones booing a kid on his debut for making a howler?
