Do you know who the CB was?
Daniel Ayala. He was without a club so was available outside of the window. He ended up going to Rotherham.

3 days notice. Even for strikes this is a first.
Also GWR has run a reduced intercity service on every prior strike day, why suddenly not now. Something is very fishy here. Is it the GWR management Xmas party on Sunday?
Sunday isn’t a strike day, it’s a withdrawal of not contractural overtime. I think the plan is just to run local services with such a small amount of drivers available.

It was an overtime strike, not a full strike
Trains just finished earlier than normal with a skeleton service in the daytime
It was both. RMT members on strike, ASLEF members withdrawal of non contractural overtime.

Don't get it, thought there were no trains due to strike, let alone football specials ?
NTTDS, was it an old type football special with engine and carriages?
No it was a 9 car iet. The rmt were out that day so there was a limited service on Great Western with guards duties covered by competent managers.

I reckon that the badge has been enlarged over what was actually on the shirt, the splat robin! Bet JL wanted on the home shirt as well.

I'm told that if you open your apple phone with face recognition and then double-click the side button the apple wallet will open to your stored credit/debit card which you can then use to pay without messing about anymore. ????
That works! When I double click it brings up my season tickets, I don’t use Apple Pay so they’re the only thing in my wallet. Cheers for the tip.

Ah, I've not been there since they were a pop-up in Kong's - will have to go back.
Would recommend trying Danny's Burgers - they are a pop-up/mobile based at Fierce & Noble's tap room. Very tasty.
For me, the best burgers by a mile were at Chomp - sadly no longer around.
Gutted Chomp are no more, they were easily my fav burger in Bristol. Was always hoping that they'd open back up after lockdown.

The line is still only going to be hourly as that is network rail wish list no money to do all the extra track work needed to allow a half hour service,
It's not just the need for a loop at Pill, if I remember correctly for when I looked at the proposal a few years back the branch would also need to be doubled from Parson street to around the site of the old Ashton gate station, and putting the slow lines back in between Temple meads and parson at, Bedminster and parson street back to 4 platforms and the Exeter end bay platform back open at temple meads,
On a plus I believe both the new stations are going to be able to hold a new 5 car IET train so that should help with capacity on the line,
I believe the plan for the west end track/ signal renewals at Temple Meads was to have platform 2 open, platform 13 as a through platform (rather than the dead end it is) and the down relief line to Parson Street. I’ve heard though that none of it will happen due to cost and it’s just going to be a like for like renewal (which is a great shame).

Unfortunately, this is apparently no longer available.
Do you have another link or are you able to explain to what it refers?
Thanks.

What banner ?
B1ackbird made reference to 05:00 because in 2004 ( I think it was) Plymouth fans sneaked in and unravelled a green banner by the old club shop. Of course they had to do it very early so nobody saw them.

Damn, they had a new banner to display at Ashton Gate at 05:00 If they won...
There’s got to be a picture somewhere on here of that banner that those clowns sneaked in with. I’ve tried searching but I can’t find it. That’s a good enough reason for me to dislike them and hope they don’t get promotion

What sort of business has a shop with such a piss poor range at Christmas of all times of the year?
I can remember going in the Bury club shop some time around 99-01 (remember Paul Mortimer being on the tram on the way back to Manchester) and thinking it was so much better than ours. I've always been baffled over the years with the poor range and poor quality of what our shop offers compared with others.
I've got a boy who's 10 a fortnight after Christmas, can I get him anything for crimbo or his birthday? Of course not! That's over £100 of income the club aren't going to get from me

The referee’s a w anchor before the game has started. Cringe fest!

Taking my 9 year old boy to his first away game, we’ll be on the first train out of Temple Meads.

Thank you,but you can always see various tractions around the country, but railway stations don't move.
Half of Weston Milton station was reused to make Lympstone Commando Station when the line was singled into Weston…. Of course I’m sure you remember!

Surely Filton Abbey Wood was the last station to be constructed in the Bristol area?

Am I correct in recalling that the 'old' club shop used to stock subtle BCFC ties? Tried to buy one online before heading to the Riverside but had no joy. If anyone can find a source (I can't) i'd appreciate a link.
I bought a club tie back in about 1992 so they defo used to sell them.

10000 there with 1400from Sunderland.
So that makes 8600 rovers fans there.
Theyre coming for us don’t forget...
That might be the official number of Sunderland fans but I know through a Sunderland fan I work with that the Mackems were buying tickets in the home end because of the paltry amount of tickets they were given.

If anyone’s coming up by train, you might be coming up with the squad. I’ve just seen the Peter Carol coach reversing down the road outside of Paddington Station. Seems strange to pay for rail travel when the coach is coming from Bristol just to take them across London.

He's a complete **** and I'm embarrassed for Bristol every time I hear his idiotic voice spouting nonsense in the media.
Totally agree, people seem to lap up his comedy genius whenever he's interviewed. Cock of the highest order....

My grandmother was from Antwerp so the Great Old are my second team. I love Brugge but refused to set foot in the club shop in town when I was there last year.
